That stand opposite us is exactly what should happen with the C&G, it was basic but had a bar underneath and good views. I would view Stevenage as a smaller club than ourselves and would imagine they've spent the majority of the last twenty five years below us in the league standings and with l...

In terms of fanzines, I guess the various podcasts and, I'm sure blogs and vlogs are probably the equivalent. Probably my very individual idiosyncrasy, but I have never got on board with these, much prefer the 'printed' word I was always anti-Kindle because I liked having the book. Then anti-Audibl...

No. I genuinely believe we’ll lose all four remaining games and finish second bottom.robinsrule wrote: ↑13 Apr 2024, 16:15 The only team we can catch now is Burton so anything other than a win on Tuesday and it’s curtains. And does anybody here think we are going to win there?

Truro played on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday this week. All were home games, played at Gloucester City, a round trip of 7 hours. Still, the presence of Truro and Taunton playing home games in Gloucester means that City are now the fifth best team in the county.

Desperately poor, but then we‘ve clearly gone down a level over the past 8 or 9 games. There‘s just no quality in the final third, the absence of Goodwin, Street & Taylor very noticeable.

Second best, we‘ve deserved nothing. Wtf are you talking about? Second half we were by far the better side Over the 90 minutes Exeter were the better team and mostly controlled the way the game panned out. They worked the ball well going forward whereas we were pretty wasteful or lacked options and...

If Lloyd is off it surely raises the question of whether it‘s worth persevering with young players if they‘re not immediately ready to make the step up. The club have invested years in Lloyd‘s development with little in the way of return until this season (excluding goals) and then he‘s apparently o...

So that leaves us with three strikers. One has scored in one game this season, one hasn‘t scored this season and the other doesn‘t even look like a professional footballer.

Poor. Apart from a good 20 minute spell in the first half I thought we looked tired. Not a single shot on target and that’s in what many would call a must win game. Right now I‘m struggling to see where those six wins or whatever will come from.

Wycombe's keeper got sent off today, straight red, so I assume he will be unavailable on Tuesday night. Substitute keeper is Argentinian Franco Ravvizoli, whose career history so far reads Wycombe, Milton Keynes, Eastbourne Borough and <double-checks notes> River Plate. Interesting........ Some tes...

I‘m pretty sure those accounts are for the 22/3 season, so no Goodwin or May sale, but they will include the Keena purchase. I expect there were also costs associated with the Seasons acquisition but the cost of Seasons itself wouldn‘t appear in the profit & loss account. It‘s difficult to think...

Re: Robins' amazing improvement
I disagree Si. The reason we weren‘t too many points behind is because not too many games had been played. But we were astoundingly bad and the turnaround required was absolutely massive, not just simply a case of recovering 7 points. One point and no goals from twelve games is absolutely pathetic. ...

That‘s now an average of 1.63 points per game from 19 games. The target is 1.47 over 34 games. We‘ve got a record of won 9, drawn 4 , lost 6 over those 19. Unbelievable considering the abject football we were playing in the first twelve.

I guess Grimsby may have taken the same approach when signing Thompson, a new 18 month contract when he only had 6 months remaining with us.
The podcast is very good btw, if anyone isn‘t a regular listener. I only started listening pre season and it quickly went into my must-listen-to list.

That would be Tony Diaz who I think had a long association with Dorchester Town. Pretty sure we signed him for the last few months of the season to help with the promotion push and he returned to the south coast at the end of the season.

Fair comment Si, but a couple of key things for me. Yes, if Davies scores we probably go on to win. If Ben Williams doesn‘t get sent off we probably beat Orient. If Freestone doesn‘t jump in we don‘t give away a couple of penalties. If we don‘t have a mad 5 minutes we beat Reading. The list goes on....

Couldn‘t fault the effort in the second half but that‘s only 11 points from the last 11 games which is nowhere close to what we need. And the trend we‘ve seen throughout that time is that we don‘t take advantage when we‘re on top but then the opposition do sod all to get a goal. No evidence today th...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Wycombe Wanderers
Poor, a really flat performance. As mentioned, it seems like we need 15 chances to get a goal and then we pretty much gift one away.
Southwood dodgy on first goal, midfield not pressing like normal and front pair lacking presence. A couple more like this and we can start planning for next season.

Midfield definitely looking stronger and we will need legs there. But up front is the real concern which is such a shame as we seemed to be firing all cylinders just a few weeks ago.
