Re: Murray toms

Being a board member seems like a thankless task. I'd imagine 99% of supporters have no idea who the board are or their backgrounds or how much time they give for no remuneration (consider that this forum and regular Twitter posters are not representative of the +/- 4,000 who attend games regularly ...

Re: COE and or DOF

Indeed, who are these "disgruntled" fans and what planet are they living on? I keep hearing people talk about wanting to see a plan or understand what the board's ambitions are. I'd say their ambition is to make sure we're a well-run sustainable club regardless of what level we're at. Peop...

Re: Silver Anniversary

Just been looking at a few pics of our fans in the crowd on social media from that day. Hardly recognise any of them and I’ve been a regular since the late 1960’s. Sure we had around 600 in our end plus people like me and my mates who got in eventually but had to sit amongst the Rushden squad playe...

Re: An Idea to raise money

10,000 plaques at £20 profit? I'll tell you where I am... I'm out. Seriously though, these could be ideas implemented by the Robins Trust. Ideas are easy to come up with but action requires proper study into viability to make it work. I think even getting a few hundred plaques would be a lot. I can'...

Re: Adam Murray after West Ham defeat

I like the cut of his jib. The squad needs a massive trim and rebuild in terms of culture (as he puts it) to meet the short term aim of survival but also the more realistic medium term aim of challenging for promotion out of League Two next season.

He was my first choice from the outset. The right fit given the size of the club, the realistic expectations of what we can achieve and his experience at this level and League Two should relegation happen. He's had to overcome personal tragedy recently which only makes me respect him more. The board...

Re: Hands up

Another plug for the trust here. It's an absolute no brainer if you consider yourself a supporter. I can't think of a single reason NOT to join. A tenner a year is nothing. Consider it from the club's point of view. How seriously are they going to take the Trust if they only have, say, 500 members? ...

Re: Ditch the bird

I think one of the main reasons the old crest was replaced was that it was very difficult to print or embroider onto merchandise and therefore something more minimal was deemed more suitable. Nowadays any kid with a computer can design a decent logo so maybe it's time the club asked for some submiss...

People who are struggling mentally often become very good at hiding their problems and appearing to be 'fine' which I can imagine being more true in a professional masculine sport environment. Surely it's time that all clubs had a dedicated person in charge of player wellbeing. Just someone either e...

This is a great idea! 88 was a few years before I started following CTFC but might well buy this regardless. The shirts I'd most love to see would be any of the Gulf Oil ones from the early to mid-90s. The all red with white sleeves (like Arsenal) and the stripes. Best of all, if you could do the Ch...

So I was driving to a record fair in Rome this afternoon and put 5Live on for the sport, as you do. They had a reporter (John Acres) at WR. Re: trying to compose a list

The best way to approach this is to make a list of all clubs to have played league football since 1999 and also non league at some point in their history and then look at whether we ever played them pre 1999. For example, we must surely have played Salford at some point in our non-league history.

I guess he's just neglected to edit LinkedIn to show that his employment at GRFC has finished. 1887 Red Army are a group of young lads who get p1ssed in the Sudeley before a game and generate a vocal atmosphere at the games, unfair to compare them with the Trust who are largely older fans looking at the long term stability of the club. Re: The Trust needs you, if it is to survive

Supporters trusts have the power to play a valuable role representing supporters. We are fortunate that the trust's role so far has not been too involved thanks to the fact that we have never faced any serious crises on the level of Bury, Bolton etc etc. If the trust goes to the wall then we may not...
