Re: Darrell Clarke after Stevenage defeat
I want to apologise to our fans as the manager who has led us back into League Two, but certainly myself and the players, we felt we did everything and I am sure we'll bounce back.
No apology needed. You've turned a broken team around, gave us hope and made us proud. I hope you stay.

Im not the real Nicky Jordan by the way! Just my favourite player from 80s when I was growing up- his goal against Lincoln in the 3-3 thriller at home in the season Lincoln first got relegated will stay in my mind for ever!

Re: Bolton Wanderers v Cheltenham Town
Be a relief when Bolton go up, their fans are insufferable c**** almost to a man. Bit of goodwill between the clubs in the last 10 days is fully out the window in my view. Tossers. Not my experience in the fans zone before game or the pub afterwards. Very friendly, knowledgeable and dedicated to fo...

A solid performance. Very well organised in defence and everyone battled hard.
Was Goodwins chance on his head in the second half as it looked and he should have scored?

Re: Block 1 where are
Last season was a tough battle and at certain points of the season relegation was a real threat. In that team we had the best striker and best centre half who have ever played for the club ( in my opinion from watching the Robins for over 40 years). The budget we operate on means we have no chance o...

Fans ejected from Bolton
A few of the youth seemed to have consumed a shandy or two too many yesterday (embarrassing).
Does the club sanction people who are ejected at away games? I saw at least two man handled out by stewards.
I'm all for a bit of banter but there were a good few yesterday who couldnt hold their drink!

Re: Cheltenham Town v Wycombe Wanderers
RCS, the voice of reason. Well said. Whilst today was disappointing again there is the need for a bit of context. We started well and for 35 mins or so were as good if not better than play off team. Then a push by the Beast is not given by the (appalling) ref and we are one down There follows an aw...

Re: Shielding the ball vs obstruction
Ive found this part of the game very frustrating for a long time now. I got a yellow card last week by going through the back of a defender who kept on doing it- I tried running round him but he kept getting in the way so I flattened him. Id like to see the rule reviewed. It would be obstruction in ...

Funny what you can get thrown out for these days. In the 1980s Newport invaded our pitch and tried to break the goal posts. I recall it being their last game before going out of business. At the end of the game they pitch invaded and ran down to the Whaddon Road end to offer everyone out for a fight...

Has anyone still has the whole picture that featured on the front of the echo?

Re: Best and worst performance you've witnessed
Id say best was 3-3 with Lincoln City the season they came down to conference or 2-1 v St Albans in FA cup or beating Gloucester 5-1 which I think was on boxing day- Jimmy Smith got a few.
Too many bad ones to remember- probably losing at home to Gloucester 2-1 at Whaddon.

Re: FAO PAUL BAKER
Since our amazing rise into the football league we have had relatively good times and I think expectations are high.
The club (PB) needs the fans to stick behind it now- relegation battles still need support.
Its going to be a hard few days at Whaddon Road while he decides what to do next.

Mr Baker knows what is best for the club and must also be feeling the pressure as this is a tough time in our history and for our future.
I reckon better if MY stays to end of season now.

Ray Baverstock was as hard as nails. Did I dream it or did he Get accused in echo once for being a pepping Tom?
Darren Angel was a hard player too.
Most violent must be Derek Paine when he ran back on the pitch after being sent off and starting swinging punches at the oppositions magic sponge man!
