I’m really happy with that. Seems highly regarded at former clubs. Was impressed with him when he managed Bristol Rovers.

Hopefully if / when we get relegated, he will have stabilised things a bit. I don’t fear relegation as long as we aren’t in free fall.

Has Luke Southwood been training with us in pre-season?

If an outfield player, he would be 2 weeks behind. Perhaps as a keeper, slightly easier for him to catch-up.

I note that we are making a monumental effort to sign Southwood which is good.

But why don’t we make a monumental effort to retain Alfie. We have a strong balance sheet now through excellent financial management, but why not just double his wages and offer him a 2 year extension.
