Re: TONIGHT: 2023/24 Club Annual Shareholders Meeting and Fans’ Forum

First thing i want to say is i respect the board and truly believe they try do what is best for ctfc. It is a tough job. That said there were two massive red flags for me. 1. It was said without players sales we are potentially running at a 400k loss that is not sustainable.... You cannot on one han...

Re: Destiny is in our hands

Maybe im alone in thinking this but i am actually frustrated in the position we are currently in. 10 matches ago we had decent momentum but have fallen of a cliff form wise. We are only still in it due to Burton and Vale being similarly woeful. The turning point for me was January we had a chance to...

Re: Is 23 March still on

Is it just me who feels matches in L1 and L2 shouldn't be postponed for internationals unless maybe in the exceptional cases of 5 players being unavailable? Trying to constantly rearrange matches in an already packed schedule is a nightmare. I get people would say we wouldn't have Southwood but the ...

Re: Darrell Clarke after Oxford United defeat

I think he will stay as he doesn't seem the type to jump ship when the going gets tough. I do think a few people on here and social media are unaware how tough next season could be. Only have to look at FGR to see losing can become a habit. Like L1 L2 is now littered with a lot of clubs splashing ca...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Charlton Athletic

That result puts massive pressure on us to get some results at some tough upcoming away games. I still think the turning point in our season was losing Street. Him and Goodwin were massive to the style of football we play and losing their presence up front was a blow. Him and Lloyd were just startin...

January transfer window

I have been thinking over the past few days i wanted to get other peoples thoughts too. Have we accepted relegation and saved a load of money to rebuild in L2? We sold Goodwin for 400k (although not all of that came to us) removed Smith and Thompson two of the more experienced players of the wage bi...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Oxford United

Another great win. There are two big changes that have made us more effective since Clarke came in. First one being out fitness is far superior. Under Wade we were always the team flagging in the last 20 mins now it is the opposite and we look much fitter. The other is we seem to playing percentage ...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Derby County

Yep solid performance all round from everyone. Special mention for Southwood and the back 5 who were immense. Three noticeable differences i thought made a difference. 1. Both wing backs were higher up the pitch in posession and helped provide more options on the ball going forward and pin back thei...

Milton has so far proved disappointing but you have to at least give him the January window as well. If the January recruitment turns out to be poor then questions would need to be asked if he is the man we want leading recruitment the following season. (Which will be one of the most important in ou...

It's got to the point now where no matter what formation we try or team we select we are always 2nd best. As the commentators said last night every match this season the opposition look sharper and fitter than us which is unacceptable. This start to this season is a parallel to the end of the L2 rel...

Agree we have seen enough evidence this season to suggest Vincent and Russell have offered nothing to improve our tactics or players in this squad. They need to go and a clean sweep brought in.

I would hope so. Bloxham said in his interview last week there would be two rounds of interviews with final one being the preferred two candidates. I would guess that would be today and then maybe an unveil tomorrow to the press? It's a shame as really we could have done with the new manager having ...

Re: NEXT MANAGER SHORTLIST

My only concern with Artell would be he seems to like playing out from the back and progressive football which could take a while to implement and might not suit this squad. Compare that to say a Cotterill style manager who plays a more limited style of play which is easier to implement immediately.

I would like to see us go back to 5-3-2 today. Get Peupion in the CAM role in behind Malcolm and Keena. Also lets press from the front and try and get on the front foot. I would imagine Wilcox was the man who appointed Duff as he was chairman at the time. So the current set up have never appointment anyone. Not sure I agree with giving up with 38 games left to play and only being 4 points from safety. Exactly and it will be a lot easier to stay in L1 this year than to bounce back the next. In fact we would be more likely to drop out of the football league than back to L1 unfortunately. The problem as ...

I'm not really sure going for an inexperienced manager at this point would be wise. Look at FGR last season Ferguson's first job but couldn't improve them. I wouldn't be against looking for someone who has done well in a lower league like Luke Garrard at Boreham Wood. The out of work managers don't ...

Only have to look at the stats today to know it was more of the same rubbish unfortunately. If we continue to allow teams 70% percent in matches you are never going to get results. Every game i watch this season it feels like we are the underdog playing a cup tie against a higher league opponent. As...

Another poor performance. My takes from the match would be I'm unconvinced by the 4-3-3 as our midfield is bypassed and overrun too easily time to revert back to 3-5-2 in my opinion. I don't think people are that obsessed with wanting posession football and aren't bothered how we play as long as we are getting results. It will be typical Cheltenham we will now push forward and start looking a threa...
