WHO SAYS CHEATS NEVER PROSPER?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/ar ... ljl839580o

Not specifically sour grapes but................... Why are we where we are and Reading, despite even more "misdemeanors" disclosed today, still in League One?

Hey ho.

SPOILT TW*TS

Poor weather has forced Man U to change their plans to FLY to Newcastle - a distance of some 140-odd miles! The poor dears are now going to spend all of about three hours of their tediously expensive lives on a coach. Heaven forfend! Still, that's the excuse banked for when they get beat.

Re: Lincoln City v Cheltenham Town

Clearly a huge Silk Purse from a Sow's Ear project of biblical proportions hoving into view for our newly ensconced manager! I know that because of "The Cheltenham Thing" we weren't able to scoop off the cream of the available crop during the summer but most of these guys don't seem to hav...

Re: Break the bank...

"Football management is not easy and Wade may take some comfort from the fact that Michael Duff is struggling too." A more apposite comparison would be to consider the premise that, perhaps, these two have come to their current jobs a year or two too early? A while longer at Barnsley might...

Re: New head of recruitment

No disrespect to our wonderful club servant, Rusty Milk Can but..........really? So, all the time spent training at Seasons and in the dug-out on match-days he's also been networking or has he / the club pinched MM's crib sheet? Time will tell and do we / will we have that time? Lot of question mark...

Thought we'd had these two early on as young loanees. Should've checked. Apologies.

Re: Where are they

This posting has morphed into Catering Chaos and that's not a bad thing as it's a real issue and is symptomatic and emblamatic of "Little Cheltenham". It's off the pitch we need to get a grip of and stop running the club like we're still in the Beazer Homes League! A giant and, indeed, eff...

Yes Broom does have experience he also, sadly, suffers from the very malaise other posters have already alluded to. Running out of steam and ideas come the 2nd half.

Re: Cheltenham Town v Peterborough United

Also at the game and yes, agreed, we were pretty hot in the first half, but................ Was there a degree of naivety on our part? Just down from the Championship and used to having to mix it with the big boys, who thought they wouldn't bully us in the second half? Yes, playing out from the back...

Non-league, eh? Fewer moaners, eh? Are not Stockport, Chesterfield, Notts County, Wrexham, for instance, considered non-league? All have gates far in excess of ours on a regular basis. How soon we forget we are just "Little Cheltenham". Ha ha!

Re: Cotterill bookies favourite

Sadly, Regency is quite correct. Some-one whose reputation is already established at the higher reaches of our league or, indeed, the one above would not have the tools here at present to achieve anything positive at all in the short to medium term. Therefore a candidate like Gill or Nicholson with ...

This is nothing about the guy as a footballer. It is, however, a panic acquisition. I can hear the subsequent conversation now with the chairman. "well, boss, you said get us a striker and he is one........".

For the purposes of perspective as we're not all in the BSM stand. The Paddock catering is considerably worse than when staffed by the two lovely ladies employed by Hancox. Two quid for a cup of tea AND we have to make it ourselves!

Where were the Robins? Montpellier Day today (in Cheltenham, that is) with a prominent display from the egg-chasers (Gloucester, that is) with their caravan selling shirts, club memorabilia, etc. We had Whadney wandering aimlessly around and a goal-shooting game wedged (rather belatedly, I suspect) ...
