This is a first class article / interview. A great read.
For me Yatesy’s time had probably come to an end when he moved on. The relegation for me was caused by the Buckle appointment and what followed.
Yatesy was more or a force for good than bad and I wish him well. Stay clean.

Re: Another change to backroom staff
I was very sorry to read this news and agree with all Si Robin has observed. To bring those 10 other guys (plus the rest of the squad) who all made their debuts at Lincoln in August 2015 together and make such a powerful team that steamrollered the league when the odds were against us was a great ac...

Re: Some thoughts on the 2-1 win over Newport County AFC
I would not describe it as a remarkable (or even "an remarkable" ? Grammar ?) transformation. There is evidence of improvement, but a long way to go. We got the rub of the green with the penalty miss, which we lacked previously. Luck evens itself out. Massive week in Lancashire. Suggest we...

As manager he is accountable. My concern is Saturday's performance was probably the worst of the season. There are no signs of encouragement, we are not getting better.

Jon Palmer and all who joined his cry....
....for a former player to take over as manager
Hang your heads in shame. There was a limitless number of experienced managers who could have stepped in and shored things up. Instead we chose no experience from a tiny unattractive pool.
Absolute mess and no redeeming features.

From what I can glean over last four months it seems you can succeed in this field with little or no strategy, planning, leadership skills, PR skills or commercial acumen.

Since giving Gaz more time and then sacking him 3 days later, this board has proven themselves to be a bunch of jokers.
No plan, no strategy, no clue, no idea.

Re: Calling Jon Palmer
If Russ is appointed (and I cannot believe any sane rational board would appoint him) then I will have lost the little confidence I had in this board. Great chap I am sure, hopeless manager and leader. JP's articles post FGR match, refusing to attribute anything to Russ by way of blame, were shameful.

Straightforward up to date reporting would be welcomed rather than perpetual ...

Described yesterday as one of the most important days in the club's history and yet no reporting whatsoever on who the runners and riders are and when an announcement is likely. I find that both surprising and disappointing.
Is it that you don't know Jon or you have taken a vow of omertà ?

You know he is not the right man for the job when he says it was difficult to speak to the players after tonight ; that should be the easiest conversation in the world.

Re: What excuses will Jon Palmer come up with....
It would help the club if we could avoid the "must have played for Cheltenham" criteria for a new manager. It will be a tough job from a big pool without restricting our options unnecessarily.

Re: Some thoughts on the Colchester defeat
The media campaign to put pressure on to sack Gaz was understandable, though the execution felt a bit unfortunate. The campaign however to support Russ is simply misplaced - we have seen nothing in 3 spells, including yesterday to suggest he is remotely capable of being a successful manager. To sugg...

Re: Some thoughts on the Brentford game
Some folk have short memories - we are entitled to expect, like at Newcastle two seasons ago and hosting West Ham last year, that we give it a go. We gave Newcastle a fright and there were spells when we were in control and had chances. It is extraordinary to suggest we cannot expect anything at a Ch...

Re: Some thoughts on the Brentford game
I am sure Milton is a good guy ; but no evidence now in his third attempt he has what it takes as a manager. We could not handle Brentford and the bit I am uncomfortable about is if that team on tuesday had been managed by GJ he would have been slated for being tactically inept, no shots on goal and...

I can only presume you were not at the game Alf or you watched it with your eyes shut.
Even if you weren't at the game, the match stats says it all.
If you think our problems are solved, think again. We will not be as lucky as yesterday in the future on a continuous basis.
