Re: Gloucestershire football

Well at least we've done our bit to cheer up Robins fans in what has been a tough year for football in the Shire.

I doubt we'll be back in the EFL anytime soon, as Vince won't learn from his mistakes.

Re: Steve Cotterill is the new...

Couple of comments... Was that filmed in the Ecotricity bunker? But, might just be me, but not convinced there's much enthusiasm from SC. Sure it will end in tears. Filmed at Stanley Park, the training ground we rent in Chippenham. Not sure it'll end in tears, we've looked certain to go down before...

Re: Steve Cotterill is the new...

Deliberate snub . I remember the great relationship we had with Forest Green and wished them well. This is childish FGR. C'mon Accrington Stanley. It is poor, agreed. I'm pretty sure with SC at the helm you won't see too much petty behaviour from our media people towards yourselves or us trying to ...

Re: Steve Cotterill is the new...

I don't understand how it damages his legacy? Whatever he does here doesn't change what he achieved with you, does it? We aren't even in the same division either. Quite a few ex Cheltenham favourites have coached here over the years, Jerry Gill was assistant to Jim Harvey, Steve Guinan & Craig A...

Re: Steve Cotterill is the new...

fgr were never in sight and never regarded a rival when SC was here, no issue. We were in the same division in 98/99 when SC won the Conference title with you. You won 2-1 at The Lawn and it was a 1-1 draw at WR. We finished 12th and got to the FA Trophy final where a number of your fans came to We...

Re: Steve Cotterill is the new...

What I find strange is a few Cheltenham fans saying this will tarnish his legacy. When he was your manager several of your fans used to come and support us occasionally. It's hardly crossing the Old Firm divide, is it.

Re: Steve Cotterill is the new...

He might not have been before, but officially he will be now. Seems every manager we appoint have to talk about their admiration for Vince publicly. Atleast you’re guaranteed one thing. And that is that it will end in tears like all previous managers. Can see DV and SC clashing People said that abo...

Re: She didn’t last long….

I think the definitive answer as to whether the new stadium will ever happen is to ring up Ecotricity during office hours and ask one of their receptionists.

Re: Gloucestershire football

Citizen understands it is to do with an ineligible player. So that's us out of the Cup then, mainly thanks to incompetence/lack of anyone giving a s#!t and actually doing their job properly which sums up the way the club has been run over the last year or so.

Tbf away fans get a covered marquee, beer truck, food van and mobile toilets behind the north stand these days.

The terrace is still mainly uncovered and cramped though. I would personally have carried on housing away fans behind the goal like we used to.

Re: She didn’t last long….

Genuine question to you Chris FGR: What's the general consensus of Vince at FGR? From the outside it seems (to Vince) the actual team playing football is getting less and less important to him and the brand of Vince and what he represents is his main focus, the football club is becoming more and mo...

Re: She didn’t last long….

No doubt Dale lapped up the publicity, and it somehow leaves a bit of a bad taste that she wasn’t really considered (from what I’ve heard ) given the way it was pushed in the media. She was officially named interim though, so her lasting 2 weeks shouldn’t be a shock to anyone. She hasn’t been sacked...

Re: Retained lists

Tbh I don’t mind the manager having more control over signings, our last 3 windows with a DoF/head of recruitment have been shite and if we repeat that we’re heading back into non league. The hope is Dunc has enough contacts to find the right sort of player to stabilise us in League 2. We’re scoutin...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Forest Green Rovers

honest question Chris FGR, is Ferguson the man for you next season? Well given how Vince said after the 5-1 smashing at home to Barnsley ‘isn’t brilliant that we’ve got a name like Big Dunc here managing us’ I doubt he’s going to sack him. Not sure he’d be brave enough to in any case, plus paying o...

He’s out of contract this summer so it’s possible. Been a good player for us for a few seasons now, well suited to the right of a back 3 as well as RB/RWB so would suit your system.
