Re: Max Harris
I wonder if we'll be seeing this again in a couple of years with Diallo. Another one who is "highly thought of" and we're seemingly waiting for the time to come when he gets his first league start, only to end up out on loan to get some games under his belt, and then released.

Tom Pett with a third minute assist as captain Raglan's Oldham go on to thrash Halifax 4-0 in the first round of the NL play-offs. Re: Burton changes
How is it that with record TV money for League 2, and our own highest average League 2 attendance, that we seem to be worse off than we were a few years back? Because the price of everything has gone up along with it. Player wages included, no doubt, once the news of the increased TV money was anno...

Re: Bristol City
To be fair, I don't think many will without huge investment. We've got to a point where there are almost a top 2/3 in the premier league, then another 15, then the bottom three and the top 4/5 in the Championship. City's budget was absolutely tiny compared to Sheff Utd's and other ex-PL clubs, and i...

Re: Pre season friendlies
In the game at Cleeve last year our goalscorers were Dulson, Pell, Obieri, Trialist A and Trialist B. So a real mix likely. Wasn’t one of the trialists Baker- Richardson who then signed for Newport, but didn’t have a particularly good season including getting sent off against us down there? So was ...

9 of the 10 scored away from home. Good point. As he was the only one to give us one (of those) at home, AJB's it is  It's between 2, the others aren't anywhere close. Archer v Notts County leads with 180, to AJB on 149. Next is Dulson v Crewe and Thomas v Peterborough, both on 21. The fact th...

Goal of the season
I'm pretty sure we've never had as many choices as this before. It's usually been a slam dunk or between two. I genuinely don't know which to pick.

Re: Nine leaving?
If Bradbury, Stubbs, Kinsella and Haynes don't sign on, then you're looking at 8 new players just to fill a match day squad, probably 12/13 for a first team squad. That it pretty much a rebuild. I think Kins and Bradders will probably sign, not sure about the other two, so we're still looking at 6 a...

Re: Released and Retained
Thomas, and I remember saying this at the time, looked like he barely ever added anything except a few slow, loose passes. But when he wasn't in the team it became obvious that we missed him. He was the very definition of the correct cog in the machine.

I'll never slag a player or manager off for leaving because they want to improve/take a shot at the next level. What I will slag them off for is anything they do that shows disrespect to the club that I support. There's a right way and a wrong way to do things. May is borderline, I can understand wh...

WhoScored League 2 Team of the Season
The EFL publish the WhoScored team of the week every week. It's based purely on stats rather than personal opinion. Sam Stubbs is in it. Even less chance of getting him now! https://x.com/SkyBetLeagueTwo/status/1920098418208158024?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1920098418208158...

Re: Possible ins and outs
I would like to see Stubbs Bradbury and Bakare stay. Bakare can play pretty much any where in defence of dm which makes him a good utility player. He wears his heart on his sleeve. I think Flynn singles him out unfairly for his errors in some matches. Then drops him. I can't be arsed to find out bu...

Re: Possible ins and outs
Still rankles me that Flynn started Bennett against Donnie when he clearly wasn't fit and replaced him at half time knowing it was his last chance to get his 25th start before surgery. If Bradders had started then we probably wouldn't have been 1 down inside two minutes. Very unprofessional just to ...

Yes, there could be a few tasty games next season. FGR can rot down there a bit longer, but would be happy to go to Walsall again, and Swindon/Newport are always fun... always reinforces how lucky we are not to be from Newport or Swindon, which is a bonus. I'm not sure if it's ever happened b...

League 2 25/26
So, just one team to sort out going up and one in through the playoffs, but Bradford have crept up thanks to a 96th minute deflected winner to leapfrog Walsall. Doncaster and Port Vale up, Morecambe and Carlisle down. Replaced by Shrews, Brizzle Rovers, Crawley, Cambridge, and Barnet. If there's any...

And that's it. A largely forgettable season punctuated by some memorable moments and some of the best goals we have seen from Cheltenham players. Ending the season with a home win and a messy away defeat about sums it up. Final grade: C+ Achieved the main objective of avoiding relegation, found a co...

Well, I got Leeds as Champ winners and Plymouth relegated, 2 of the 3 Prem relegated, Birmingham promoted and I think 2 of the L1 relegated, Doncaster as L2 winners, and Morecambe relegated. And I said Cheltenham 14th just one out.

Re: Bromley v Cheltenham Town
I'd have thought AJB would have learnt a bit more this season, but he still does silly things like stick his foot out to try and pointlessly block a clearance, where we would have had a throw in, and gives away a free kick. He does things like that too much. He's still raw, which is concerning after...

Re: Bromley v Cheltenham Town
At least Tustin is getting half an hour. Haynes at centre back now...I'd say we really need to sort the defence out this summer, but the keeping, midfield and attacking departments need serious attention too!
