Re: Port Vale Cup Tie
Getting knocked out by Maidstone was a nightmare scenario. Getting knocked out by Sutton United was a nightmare scenario. Starting the season hoping to escape relegation was nightmare scenario. Losing to Port Vale while fifth in the division is not a nightmare scenario. Bury was a financial disaster...

Re: Our former manager...
The same people bigging this up are the same ones who refer to that league as pub football where Gloucester are concerned. Good for Johnson - probably found his level now. Presumably he's only going to sign worse players than he's already got in the summer so he doesn't hurt their feelings. Shame we...

It was interesting how, the other night, Duff was on about how coaching the defence in the way he wanted them to play had taken time because it was not an easy system. I think Duff's coaching and top-level playing experience has been key in improving players who previously looked below par.

Two-year deals for players unproven at the club is suicide at this level. You will get stuck with far more players you don't want than you will tying down those you do want.

Except your argument makes no sense, we were bidding £200k for strikers just before GJ got sacked so clearly he didn't blow the budget. Whilst I agree the decision to give McAlindon a two year deal was baffling (go back and see I was the only one calling this out at the time) to say the least and D...

Sour grapes for not being signed by GJ to me. Also does Duff not have the same budget or was it all wasted by Russ? Sour grapes or the truth. Facts point to the latter. The mystery of the blown budget is a tricky one. Was it: a. The manager who had all summer, signed more than a dozen players, hand...

That's what happens when you hand out silly 2 year contracts to players in the summer. We seemed to spend near enough all the budget budget in the the summer and now there's none left. Yeah got to give Duff huge credit for drilling them into a team but this is largely GJ's summer signings which people wrote off quickly. Personally, it was the manager I wrote off not the players. It was obvious Eisa was going to be sold. There was just no plan in place to replace him bar one player who clearly didn't want to come. Again, Duff has been in charge for a month. One month. The very fact you're suggesting he won't last until January says it all. Not sure why you think Milton should take some blame,. He's the coach. That's why. And why was he allowed to sign some of the players? Pure conjecture here, but one has been pondering the reason CTFC has let Kalvin Kalala go and not put him out on loan instead - bearing in mind he was on the bench for several recent games and was well worth nurturing. I doubt very much if anyone will be coming in any time soon. The first job is to try to shift on as many unwanted players as poss to free up funds. It's not going to be easy given the previous manager was allowed to hand out two-year deals to players unlikely to be in demand from any league clubs so...
