Re: Why no pre match?
I would guess that with all of the injuries and suspensions DC is waiting to see who turns up on the Supporters coaches tonight before he names his team?

Re: Cheltenham Town v Oxford United
Thompson and Ferry out :( With no Thompson or Bonds, be interesting to see who gets that spot. Especially with Chapman, Adshead and Olayinka basically out of the picture. Were a better side without Bonds, we get the ball forward quicker, were not caught in pocession as much. In my view Pett and Tho...

Re: improvements
DC also said at the forum that he didn’t want to the team to play with a mid-block because “a mid-block worked last season because they could wait for the opposition to make a mistake and then Alfie May would score, but we don’t have Alfie May anymore.” So yes I agree Wade was a good coach and work...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Oxford United
Also loved it today when it kicked off on the second half between Brannigan and Bevan (I think?) a number of our players waded in to back each other up. That wouldn't have happened two months ago.

Re: Cheltenham Town v Oxford United
Superb performance from everyone today. Like most others feared the worst when Street got sent off, but the shift from everyone else was fantastic. Thought Tom Pett was superb again, why Port Vale let him go baffles me more each game. Curtis Davies was immense too and probably shaded MOM for me (fir...

Re: Robins Report Podcast
For me, I think there are two points here. Firstly, I agree with the consensus that the £250k threshold was too low, should have been at least £300k if not £350k but that is just my opinion. Secondly, I think it all depends on the actual wording of the 'Gentleman's Agreement'. If it was that if anyo...

A few interesting little interviews have appeared on the Sky Sports website today. It's very clearly DC using the media to shine a light on the frugal nature of our board. That said, Pett needs to perform then hopefully he can be rewarded with a longer term deal as likely he'll be useful next season especially if we go down. I think its probably more another indirect barb at how ...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Wigan Athletic
Racking my brains to remember the last time I went to a Cheltenham game in which our midfield conlletely ran the show. Must have been Duff/Callum Wright era? Spot on, in fact I dont remember a Cheltenham midfield physically dominating like that even in the Duff era. Also, the front two gave the Wig...

Re: Adam Murray after West Ham defeat
It is certainly going to be a very interesting few months ahead. Players are going to be moved on (or attempted to be anyway) and be replaced. DC seems to be a manager who likes experience over youth, particularly in our current situation, but we know good experience costs money so will be interesti...

I don't know how long I'd give him as I don't know what his main issue is. He might need to go and see someone to get his head sorted out. Given what we paid for him, and as he's shown that he is capable, I'm personally willing to give him more chances from the bench throughout the season. I'd sugg...

If it was me I would be tempted to throw the 11 who started last Saturday's fiasco on again and tell then to sort themselves out! However, discretion being the better part of valour I would expect the starting team to be filled with players who need the minutes or who won't be anywhere near the tea...

Re: Darrell Clarke after AFC Wimbledon defeat
The Manager must take his share of yesterdays poor result. Picking two players who seemed out of the picture and subbing off Ferry leaving us with no left footer on that side was bizarre. He is already repititive with his excuses. He is a tinkerman. Let things settle a bit. We had a reasonable week...

Re: Wimbledon match thread
Embarrassing, that felt truly awful. Why play the RWB and LWB out of position for the first quarter of the match. Don’t get me started on Adshead. Ferry was put clear down the right twice in the first 10 mins but because he had to cut back onto his left foot both opportunities were wasted when a ri...

Re: Wimbledon match thread
Just home from the game and still shocked at the awfulness of it. Outfought, outmuscled and generally bullied by a mid table League 2 team... absolutely shocking. DC has to shoulder some blame too for selecting Adshead and starting with his wingbacks on the wrong side. That doesnt excuse the players...

Maybe we're selling Bonds This was my first reaction on seeing the Pett links - some working capital for DC to play with in Jan, bed in the replacement early (which worked well for Keena!!) I would think (and hope) its more likely that Darrell has seen enough of Chapman, Adshead, Hammond and Peupio...

Could we not have played in red? Not much contrast going on there Being a colourblind, the recent games have pissed me off as well. Oppo wearing dark strips when we are wearing red at home. Are we confident he'll score? I'm not confident in him doing anything positive at the moment. That's not writing him off, just judging on how he's "performed" this season. Can we be confident any of our strikers will score?! I just think having invested a club record fee and seen in the l...

Re: Team for Blackpool
I would guess that maybe Bonds starts ahead of Olayinka? Although not overly keen on that three starting together myself as not enough attacking threat, but as I suspect we will not go there looking to be too over expansive then this could be an option. Lloyd or Keena may get a sniff if either Stree...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Cambridge United
Definitely a step in the right direction Saturday. A lot more positive in possession especially in the opening 25 mins or so. Did revert back to slower play thereafter but suspect that was just more to do with protecting what we had. A more confident team could and probably should have had a more co...

Re: Worrying possibly
I think we’re writing Keena off too quickly. Still the most natural / clinical goalscorer in the squad, just bang out of form. Teamed up very well with Lloydy pre-season so hopefully he’ll bring the best out of him when they next get chance. I agree. According to the OS Keena has had 10 shots and o...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Newport County AFC
He had two decent efforts last night which is more than he has done most games. Malcolm and he are split far apart most of the time which might be Managers orders. Malcolm does not get in to strikers positions enough for me yet stayed on the pitch. Agree. We put three or four decent balls into the ...

Most clubs have their own sports scientists and analysts to inform this stuff. The vests the players wear track how far and fast they run and their heart rates. Re: Cheltenham Town v Newport County AFC
Not many doing themselves any favours this evening. That second goal was practically straight down the middle of the goal. A big contributor to the second goal was the fact that Adshead was off the pitch changing his boots after being fouled (he felt anyway) and his boot being ripped off and damage...
