Something strange going on at FGR? "Forest Green's FA Cup second-round tie at Blackpool on Saturday has been postponed due to a Football Association investigation into League Two club Rovers. A statement from Forest Green said they would "comply with the FA in their investigation" bef...

Went to GCFC last weekend for the first time - lost 3-1 to Warrington Town. First impressions weren't entirely favourable - got soaked walking from the train station and through the city centre, then couldn't actually find the ground even after passing through the docks and over the river i.e. close...

Ms. Cooper is 86. At that age probably everything is "better than sex". You know, like sorting out the recycling, cleaning out the cat's litter tray, or rearranging your sock drawer. Unless, of course, she has (yet) another book to promote and so feels obliged to provide second-rate journa...

Ipswich are a mad comparison anyway. English League Champions, FA Cup winners, UEFA cup winners. Their heritage is on a different planet to us. The majority of football fans, about 2/3 in most surveys, support their team because of family links: A parent, grandparent usually. It's passed down. Only...

I was chatting to a couple Derby fans in the bar near CF at half time. Really nice guts with nothing but praise for Cheltenham and our fans I got speaking to a few Derby fans in the Spectre before the game - young lads and very friendly and chatty etc. While as the session wore on, the place began ...

Meanwhile, we can only look on in envy as towns like Ipswich with about double our population attract 30,000 to home games... Look at places like Guildford, Winchester and Stratford and they don’t even have proper football league teams so we are doing well compared to some. No comment on Cheltenham...

What’s the actual record? Eleven games is the current record, which as of last night we have matched, twelve will be the new record we set if we don't score against Deby this Saturday. The record has stood for 135 years. When Lawrie Sanchez took over Northern Ireland in January 2004, they had gone ...

I am unqualified to comment on whether WE should have been sacked or not. But looking in from the outside at situations like this, I always think the defining factor should be: "Has the manager lost the dressing room?" Which doesn't necessarily mean that they dislike him or are continually...

Cannot agree.

For it is well-known fact that there is no problem in football which cannot be solved by sacking the manager.

Which is why Rochdale qualify for the Champions League season-in, season-out.

For this reason I've always been impressed with where Cheltenham are as a club - to be in the 3rd tier of English football despite not being a traditional football area and a smallish town to boot is very impressive. Look at Worcester up the road, similar size town/city and the team is in the 9th t...

Back on topic, we have had two opposing views above. One suggesting the mission is to finish as high in the football league pyramid as possible. The other saying the mission is to serve and represent the community. Be interesting to hear others. As a recent incomer to the town, my own view is that ...
