Re: Major ownership development

[quote=Robin post_id=372553 time=1750975881 user_id=71] I'm confused by the point here, a new stand a) will bring in revenue on non-match days and b) increased attendances. This will make us more competitive. You can spend a few million on players but if the ground stays as it is it's unsustainable....

MK were taken over by a middle eastern investment group that want to bring premier league football. Forest Green Rovers have appointed former Wales midfielder Robbie Savage as their new manager, after Steve Cotterill was sacked last week. Savage, who played for Leicester, Derby, Blackburn and Birmingham among others during his career, has been managing non-league side Macclesfield FC since 2024. ...

Might it not simply be that these sales/releases reflect that the Board is trying to get the books into the best possible shape financially, so as to get the best possible price from any new Investor(s)?

Leaving said Investor(s) to deal with assembling a decent squad post-purchase?

[Seppala] has money and did acquire Coventry, we are probably appealing because of the growth potential if an owner gets it right and the face we have no debt. As for Wymans Brook - the river Chelt runs culverted through the town centre, so I don't think doing similar to the Brook would be a barrier to development if the pie is big enough to warrant it, and those three sites together probably make a big enough pie. The Chelt will have been culverted when ...

Obv I have no idea whether Ms. Seppala is interested in investing in CTFC or not. But I would say two things: 1. She hardly covered herself in glory at Coventry City, nor ever got the fans on her side; and 2. If her net worth is somewhere between £50m-£100m (and tbf, whoever wrote that article doesn...

Anyhow, re this discussion about Volunteers vs Paid Professionals, imo it shouldn't be an either/or. For an outfit of CFTC's size at least, they surely need a Board to provide direction (the word "Director" is key), with an Executive to manage the club's progress in that direction. With th...

Carlisle have a full-time CEO. They also have a bigger fan base than us and more 'history', for sure. I'd be willing to bet they had a bigger playing budget, too. He's sure helped steady their ship All Carlisle's example shows is that you can have the "right" set-up, but still fail. Where...

I know I will get flamed for board bashing but this is a just another in a line of board mistakes I'm afraid. Bottom clubs were Bromley (£27.5k), Accrington (£28.4k) and Crewe (£39.6k). Top spenders were Fleetwood (£284.4k), Port Vale (£2...

I've been in "Safe Standing" areas loads of time and you stand throughout, otherwise you'd never see. (Though it's nice to get a sit-down at H-T) Basically it's a way for the top clubs to offer standing, yet comply with games which have to be all-seater, eg European games (you can bolt the...

MK was my fourth CTFC game attended this season (3 x homes + Swindon away). I enjoyed the others, but God Saturday was hard work - no real quality on either side, apart from the occasional individual touch. Fair result.

Not much to add to the above, except that the train station is to the South West of the town - a brisk 20 to 25 mins walk to the centre.
