Re: Retained list
Only slight surprise for me is we haven’t offered Williams a new deal if we’re all convinced that Ferry is leaving? I’m sure Williams could be a more than decent League 2 LB..

Hopefully if we can keep Taylor fit the omens are good. 7 in 11 with a dodgy hamstring bodes well for us next season in a lower league!

Re: Rumour season opens
Someone on FB reckoned Harry Pell is being released by Wimbledon. Maybe worth a shout? We do need someone a bit nasty in midfield, been lacking a bit of aggression in the middle of the pitch..

Would be good if we can persuade these two to stay. Sercombe should be able to get 20 goals at least in League 2 right ?

Re: Stevenage v Cheltenham Town
Gutted, they couldn’t have given any more in that game, but as others have said, we didn’t get relegated because of today. We had a mountain to climb after those first 11 games and we almost made it. Hope we can persuade Clarke to stay and Matty Taylor too. His 7 goals in 11 games made such a differ...

Re: No programmes anymore
I've got a programme from every CTFC game I've been to so I'm a bit sad about this. But I understand why they're doing this and the quality has dropped off massively in the last couple of years, so I've just been buying them out of habit rather than enjoying reading the content tbh...

Re: FA Cup replays scrapped
Absolutely, could be a lifeline for a lot of smaller clubs, us included. Makes me laugh how the Premier League teams claim "exhaustion" or "fixture congestion" as the reason behind this, but they're more than happy to fly their squads all around the world taking part in pointless...

FA Cup replays scrapped
In all rounds from next season. Premier League teams can apparently dictate this even though they don't enter the competition until the 3rd round. How is this acceptable?

Re: Deciding games
Thanks for doing the calculations! Is it to our advantage that Lincoln & Peterborough both have a lot to play for and will be as nervous as we are? Carlisle & Gas games proved we're no good against teams who could take their foot off the gas!

Bodes well for us at Stevenage if Burton managed to win there on Saturday! If we're still in the fight by then. Mind you I've given up trying to predict results in this league..

Re: Burton Albion v Cheltenham Town
Dilemma with Thomas now, he made such a difference. So do we start with him on Saturday or is he still better coming off the bench? But then we don't want it to be too late and he's chasing a lost cause...

Re: Huff n puff but no quality
I know it's obviously not a guarantee of success, as Carlisle have been relegated, but watching us against them and also the likes of Exeter & Wycombe recently (comfortable mid table sides), it's noticeable to me how much more physically powerful and fitter (and larger) the players in these team...

Yep Kelly looked useful - height, combined with physical presence & mobility. None of our forwards offer any of that. Sorry but I think Keena is done, I see no reason to keep him at all. Let him go back to a level that suits him (Irish League).

We probably can't hold onto them, but the only ones I would want to keep next season are Southwood, Freestone & Ferry. Plus young Thomas of course. The rest just aren't good enough even for League 2.

Just back from the game. Still absolutely fuming. Fighting for our lives and a decision like that is a massive kick in the teeth. A draw would have been a fair result as they were all over us in the first half tbf. Changes at half time made a massive difference but we are desperately short up front ...

Re: The last two.- standing package
There were a lot of them (enough to take up some of the CF) last season. Few idiots ran on the pitch and chucked a flare when they equalised. Which put their team off just enough to let Caleb put us 2-1 up from our next corner...oh how we laughed..

Re: Is 23 March still on
Rob Lainton, from Bury I think? I remember he had a good game, despite the 3-3 scoreline. That point went a long way to keeping us up that season. We seemed to get a lot of high scoring games at Wycombe until this season's dismal performance! We had Scott Brown back in on loan from Wycombe as first ...

Positive news, the shop and the online version definitely need freshening up a bit. I popped in to buy a new mug before the Port Vale game (broke my "Champions" one - bad omen?) and it looked like the same old stuff that they've had in there for years..

Yep me too. When I was a teenager in the 80s I used to go to West Ham with my Dad, until I was in my twenties and the Premier League started up. Until then they were still a proper community club. When I moved to Cheltenham and started watching the Robins I realised that's what I'd been missing and ...

I think Brooker and Russell would both be in my all time favourite CTFC 11. But maybe I'm a bit biased because 07/08 was my first season watching Town
Still remember Brooker's late winner against Bristol Rovers, we all went absolutely mental in the PRE !
