Re: WHO SAYS CHEATS NEVER PROSPER?
What would your solution be then? I have no solution to offer, so I offered none. If you pushed me, I'd probably suggest that the new club should be exactly that. Fans who have lost their old club would naturally gravitate towards the new one if there's a common link provided by, say, the home grou...

Re: WHO SAYS CHEATS NEVER PROSPER?
Well the Sevco Franchise got to keep all Rangers' titles and honours, despite essentially being a new club.

It's entirely *how* it's being used that's the problem. Technology is in use in cricket and rugby and is pretty successful and there's hardly any clap-back in those (with the exception of the recent Premiership match where Austin Healy spotted an infringement and the TMO wrongly said he couldn't loo...

Re: Robins Trust Email - Cheltenham Town: Building for the Future
I think I'm right in saying that there were a number of matches last season with no 'match sponsor'? I don't recall many of those in previous seasons.

Bit like having a cricketer on the team who can't bat and can't bowl but is excellent fielding at midwicket... In any case, I'd heard from a Wrexham fan that they are expecting him to retire.

Hang on Fuller, the email says: "We would love to hear your thoughts, comments – whether they are good or critical, it all helps to shape the narrative."

Re: Darrell Clarke after Stevenage defeat
It was mainly Mike Duff who helped to make May the player he is! Hang on, wasn't Wade the coach at that time...? I'm confused about the arguments being used, now. Like so many Facebook 'discussions' I've had the misfortune to get into on CTFC posts, I'm done with this one... There's just no coheren...

Re: Darrell Clarke after Stevenage defeat
Here's one for you WE or DC WE or MA? WE or BG? Who cares? Do I think DC is a better manager than WE? Yes, of course I do! Does that make WE a bad manager? No, it really doesn't. Honestly, there's a couple of posts here that take 'disingenuity' to a whole new level. "WE was lucky cos he had Ma...

Re: Darrell Clarke after Stevenage defeat
I'm starting to think Mystified can't tell the difference between me and Robin... I realise we've probably never been seen in the same room at the same time (to the best of my knowledge, we've never met) but, on this forum, it's actually fairly easy to tell us apart. Robin spells his handle 'R-o-b-i...

Re: Darrell Clarke after Stevenage defeat
The board don’t have the resources or time. That's possibly closer to 'board bashing' than anything I've posted regarding the board... Still looking for those examples...? ASL, the comment was to Robin, not you. You need to be more careful with the posts you quote then, as Robin did not feature in ...

Re: Darrell Clarke after Stevenage defeat
Thanks Si. Yes, go on, Mystified: find some examples of me 'bashing the board'. Also, I said on Saturday that it was remarkable that we could still stay up on the last day of the season - I'm not certain I could celebrate relegation, however, so maybe I'll give you that one and I hope you had a part...

Re: Darrell Clarke after Stevenage defeat
you could also argue that Paul Bence opted against the actual appointment Wade - and I don’t need to remind you of how that appointment went. Pretty damned well in the first year, unless my memory fails me? Yep...I've just checked the final 2023 League 1 table - it went exceedingly well: and we had...

Seems unlikely... Surely he burned bridges when he took a pay rise when FGR were sniffing around only then to continue to entertain suitors and try to pull the same trick again?

Re: Farewells
Nothing on his Twatter, nothing on the official site, no mention in the report nor DCs interview. Has another player said something? Definitely his ankle (yes, I realise that's part of his leg, but "broken leg" conjures up images of tibia and fibula, which I'm pretty certain it wasn't).

Re: Season tickets
I'd like to see the £2 penalty for buying on the day scrapped. I do not, and never will, see it as a £2 discount for buying in advance. Sometimes, I genuinely don't know that I'm able to make a match on a Saturday before 13:00 due to work commitments. Why should an e-ticket on the day cost more than...

Funny how we see things differently! Yes, I do think referees get a ridiculous amount of stick for doing a job almost nobody on this board could do - so I try to add some balance.

Re: Stevenage v Cheltenham Town
Just home, almost exactly 2 hours from the car park. Gutted - especially given the Burton result. A few observations: 1. I think that's twice now Thomas has been booked for 'simulation' since joining us? From what I saw, both were deserved. He needs to cut that out of his game and do the things he's...
