I'll be surprised if he's not released by Arsenal this summer and is playing non-league football next season.

Re: Professionalising 'little old Cheltenham'
A CEO would be more beneficial to the club than some of the "players" we have on the books . Presumably you are talking about squad players who are likely earning relatively low wages of maybe £40-60k a year, some maybe less than that. What sort of CEO is going to come to us on those sort...

Re: Professionalising 'little old Cheltenham'
I'm with you paperboy, and I posted as much upthread. Whilst there are only a few clubs that don't have CEOs, that means all the clubs in turmoil also have one. FGR for example, and Carlisle. I'm not saying we shouldn't have one, but I can't get away from the fact that as soon as we have one and th...

Re: DC new contract
I'm unsure what to make of that, are the board reacting to approaches from other clubs or pro-actively trying to tie down a key asset in hope of achieving a promotion push next year and maximizing season ticket sales. Let's hope it's the latter.

Re: Robins Trust Email - Cheltenham Town: Building for the Future
Yes the Morecambe owners are the same ones who ran Worcester rugby into the ground. They have had the club up for sale for over a year now but not sold as nobody will meet their asking price. That's seen a lot of key staff and players leave and they are stuck in a downward spiral. I fully agree ther...

Re: Robins Trust Email - Cheltenham Town: Building for the Future
Now look at what a CEO achieved at Morecambe, doubling their crowds, record season ticket sales and their commercial income. It's a no brainer so long as we get the right person into role it can pay for itself.horlickfanclub wrote: ↑02 May 2024, 09:04 A CEO or money in the playing budget ? Players get my vote.

Former Arsenal chairman Sir Chips Keswick has died at the age of 84. A lifelong fan of the club, Sir Chips joined the Arsenal board in 2005 . ( brother of Ctfc major shareholder Simon Keswick ) Just wondering if this will have any impact on Simon`s commitment to the Robins ? I did wonder whether it...

Re: Rumour season opens
Taylor Moore went from on to have further loan spells with Blackpool, Heats and Shrewsbury, as well as a few more games with Bristol City. He's currently playing at the bottom end of the French Ligue 2. Hardly glittering progression. Cameron Pring on the other hand seems a regular in Bristol City's...

Re: Rumour season opens
Haven't we a decent record with loanee centre halves? Off the top of my head Michael Hector , Rob Dickie, Cameron Burgess, Jamie Pollocks lad, Greaves. One of a similar quality would be nice in League 2. Not forgetting other central defenders we had on loan who went on to have good careers after sp...

That's absolutely brilliant by the trust fair play. Really hope to see some tangible outcomes in the coming weeks and months.
I will get accused of bashing but I suspect this is what most wanted to see from the board at the forum.

No surprises there with that list although I did wonder whether Pardington may have been retained but suspect we can't have three keepers with our budget in league two. It will be very interesting if Ferry signs a new deal or not.

It's worrying simply because we need action to have started already if we are going to move forward and have a positive season. Remember when we were relegated to the conference within a couple of weeks we signed on several top end experienced players like Storer, Downes, Pell. Those deals didn't ju...

Re: Rumour season opens
The one thing you could consistently say under Moore was we got very high quality loans, probably better than any other time since we've been a football league club in my view. You could tell a lot of work went into identifying them and then securing them. Whilst there was the odd flop the majority ...

Despite the recent negativity we have a solid core of experience and potential seemingly signed on for next season. If we can add a creative midfielder, a couple of forwards, with a good keeper and Clarke stays we could have a positive season.

I've heard a few things, let's see if they come true but the return of Moore as DoF and George Lloyd potentially to another league one side not too far away seem to be doing the rounds. Worryingly nothing much on the incoming player side.

Paul Bence has had enough. With him standing down, I think I can share now that when we appointed Wade he was the only director who wanted to appoint Matty Taylor from the final two candidates. We dodged a bullet for sure with that managerial appointment. Doesn't reflect on his overall time here bu...

That stand opposite us is exactly what should happen with the C&G, it was basic but had a bar underneath and good views. I would view Stevenage as a smaller club than ourselves and would imagine they've spent the majority of the last twenty five years below us in the league standings and with lo...

Yes, I noticed a few Stevenage players turn to acknowledge us at the end. Unlike the bellend Sweeney shushing us when they scored the penalty. I have no issue with players giving it back to fans who have been getting on their back, but there was none of that yesterday. Sent from my iPhone using Tap...

I will get slammed for this but we should offer him some sort of contract until January to aid his recovery. He put his body on the line for us so some loyalty would be the right thing to do and you never know he might then repay us again in future.

Regarding the training ground I presume it's a five figure investment so unlikely that crowdfunder could cover it but I would like to think our owners would consider it as it won't bankrupt the club and it will help us long term.

Hearing rumours we might be about to appoint a Director of Football and it's a face we all know. Unsure how that fits with keep Clarke for next season but I believe he worked with one at Port Vale and Bristol Rovers. Hopefully a bit of positive news on a really low day for the club.

Possibly but I believe Ipswich and Plymouth received quite a bit of US based investment before Wrexham became a thing. I can see the logic with someone like Ipswich, they come invest £20 million and if that money get's them to the Premier league they make a huge return. If it fails it's a relative l...
