Re: Performances v Oxford
Interesting how we all see the game, I thought they were great to a man but I was especially impressed with Goodwin, Davies, Williams and Pett. Long and Keena had the quietest games but were far from bad.

Re: improvements
The improvement is almost beyond belief however the bookies still have us as 1-5 favorites to go down which shows the extent of the mountain we need to climb. Clarke has installed an us against the world mentality in the players who appear to be willing to run through brick walls for him, if he can ...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Oxford United
Brilliant today every single one of them, we went at them from the first minute and were superbly organised when we didn't have the ball.

Decisive? As in made decision quickly and effectively is not how I'd describe the eventual sacking of Wade.

Love Darrell Clarke saying his ambition if we stay up is to get us into the top half next season, would love to have seen David Bloxham's face to that.

Re: Robins Report Podcast
Mo? Broom for £100k wasn't bad business really. Agree about Mo the money we got was a good deal but was quickly gobbled up by sell on clauses and other clauses. Didn't we get £150k for Broom at the time it didn't feel like a good deal but in hindsight was probably fair. Whatever we got for Reece Hu...

Re: Robins Report Podcast
Derby didn't make a bid because of their financial issues. They needed to ship out before they could pay a fee. He very much wanted to go to Derby. That's certainly not what I heard Si, his agent was looking to move him back to the South East, other clubs like Wrexham and Derby were told this too.

Re: Robins Report Podcast
I don't think anything will ever change my mind that just like with Mike Duff we had our pants pulled down over a player who should have fetched a much bigger fee. It's clear the reason why other clubs didn't come in because Alfie's agent made it clear he wanted to return to the South East, that's w...

It's very clearly DC using the media to shine a light on the frugal nature of our board. That said, Pett needs to perform then hopefully he can be rewarded with a longer term deal as likely he'll be useful next season especially if we go down.

I suspect it's the games next month which will decide our fate, we simply have to be getting something against Carlisle and Northampton, ideally win both.

Re: Available for loan
Agree about Links, for someone who came through the Arsenal academy and who was regarding as a high potential talent only a few years ago when on loan at Northampton his end product is really lacking. I think I'm right in saying so far he has no goals and only one assist in his time here which is po...

Re: Will It Be On-Par With The 1998/1999 Promotion.
No, polar opposite because we were 2nd favourites to win the league then and everyone expected us to give it a good go. At the moment I doubt many people give us any real chance.

Re: Oxford United
They won't take Cotts there, his style of play is the total opposite of what Manning has them playing. Could see the Cowley's being interested but also being overlooked for a more progressive younger coach. Also I heard Cotts had applied for the Bristol Rovers job, could certainly see that happening...

Yes, Shade is right we threw the majority of the parachute money at it combined with having some of the largest crowds at the level that season.

Re: Adam Murray after West Ham defeat
I know we've tended to cost cut to the bone after a relegation the one exception being the Gary Johnson champions season where we essentially threw everything we had to back him and gave him a big budget for the level. Clearly we won't go down and be one of the top budgets but Accrington and Morecam...

Re: Darrell Clarke after AFC Wimbledon defeat
I'd like to remind people that we actually paid cash-money for Dan Adshead and he is, apparently, one of the highest earners. I know Micky Moore got a lot right, but Adshead is on for being one of the worst signings in the club's league history. I don't know anything about his wages but the fee pai...

Re: Darrell Clarke after AFC Wimbledon defeat
Well, there are 5 or 6 loans I assume could be terminated for a start, so that leaves 8-10 others. I was thinking agreeing terminations if there is no interest in them from other clubs. Leave now as a free agent for a pittance or sit in the stands for another 5 months and good luck finding another ...

Re: Adam Murray after West Ham defeat
I wrote a thread on here that there is a danger we throw the bath tub out with the water or something to that effect. Whilst I agree with what Adam Murray says here just be warned a massive squad overhaul during the season tends to be very costly (we may need to pay players contracts up or loan them...

Re: Wimbledon match thread
Huge game for the players against Wigan next Saturday at Whaddon Road. Then two weeks without a match. Then another gap for FACup R2 weekend (unless we agree to move a game with another L1 club who’ve been knocked out, but that feels unlikely). Means we have 8 more games before the transfer window ...

I hope the loans are all super cheap, otherwise I don't know how we're paying them all. Re: Port Vale v Cheltenham Town
I don't want to tempt fate but Wimbledon's home record isn't very good with just one win over relegation threatened Tranmere who were down to ten men. They do seem to score quite often though. Very happy to get the win yesterday just had that feeling we would win it before a ball was kicked. Is this...

Re: Team for Blackpool
The 'problem' we have is we have three workhorse strikers in Lloyd, Goodwin and Street, we then only have one who we are confident will score goals - Keena. Unsure where Butler or Malcolm fit into this either, presumably at least one will leave when the window opens.

Assuming no injuries I wouldn't change the starting eleven only bring in one of Bevan or Davies to the bench in place of Malcolm or Lloyd.

Re: Cheltenham Town v Cambridge United
It was noticeable for me that for the first 40 mins whenever a midfielder got the ball they tried to turn play forward, or at least play a forward pass ‘round the corner’. Fully agree with this, earlier in the season our midfielders would almost always just touch and pass back to defence, that chan...

Re: Worrying possibly
Lloyd, Goodwin and Street are all still young and could come good for sure but at the moment we need some more proven experience up alongside them. Surely we could at least afford a league two striker rather than sub-par loans.
