Re: Cheltenham and Gloucester joining up ?
I remember a few years back at Chester-le-Street train station and the train to Newcastle there were two FGR fans, a Gloucester City fan with his Gas Head mate, and me. No rivalry or animosity at all; we were all Shiremen united in the Shire cause.

Re: New strip
A few Errea strips have started being revealed for the new season which may give an inkling of how ours might look: https://www.footballkitarchive.com/errea-2024-25-kits/ Some of the collars are a little odd. The QPR one is otherwise quite smart. Underwhelmed by Aldershot’s new away shirt which is ...

Re: Retained list
The counter argument with Lloyd is that he scored 5 goals in 20 games for Grimsby in L2. That would equate to 11 or 12 goals over a season. Not a goal machine, but not bad either. So, perhaps that’s his level. And it’s all very likely a moot point because it seems almost certain he’s going anyway. ...

Re: Retained list
One and done for Pardington then. Shame. Can't exactly say I'm shocked about any of the released players, but I would have thought one or two would do a job in League 2. We already know Southwood is off, the rumours about Lloyd going, and we all seem to expect that Ferry will find a L1 club. So, if...

Re: Darrell Clarke after Stevenage defeat
You know I’m referring to attitude and mindset don’t you? The evidence was on the pitch for me. And I didn’t read the interview from DC saying that “we are going to take a few hits” but I just hope that the “Cheltenham thing” doesn’t turn out to be that of a defeatist club. Evidence of more wins an...

Re: Darrell Clarke after Stevenage defeat
It was mainly Mike Duff who helped to make May the player he is! Hang on, wasn't Wade the coach at that time...? I'm confused about the arguments being used, now. Like so many Facebook 'discussions' I've had the misfortune to get into on CTFC posts, I'm done with this one... There's just no coheren...

Re: Darrell Clarke after Stevenage defeat
With WE it was more to do with the “we are Cheltenham so we are going to get battered a few times this season” attitude. It drove me nuts! With DC, we have an attitude of we don’t care who you are, we will try to find a way to win. As you raised an interesting point about characters I thought I’d a...

Re: Darrell Clarke after Stevenage defeat
On Wade; I suspect it was his personality. Your average football fan likes fire, brimstone, optimism and passion from their managers. DC has that in spades. Wade was quiet, thoughtful, cautious and pessimistic/realistic. The bar for criticism is much lower for that kind of coach. With WE it was mor...

Who was the team we beat 5-0 in the National League title winning season? Midweek game at WR under lights and the away supporters coach was late arriving. About 25 got off and by the time they were in their seats we were 2-0 up and we’d only played five minutes. Much amusement prevailed. Was it Gui...

Bromley or Solihull Moors
Will be joining us in League Two next season. They are both into the NL playoff final.
I hope it’s the Moors. Not quite St Andrew’s where we may have gone if we stayed up, but an easy ground to get to.

Re: TONIGHT: 2023/24 Club Annual Shareholders Meeting and Fans’ Forum
I’ve just been reading up about how Stevenage funded their new North Stand (the one at the opposite end from us) 5 years ago. They launched a mini-bond scheme in which fans contributed between £500 and £25000. In return they got interest (4-8%) on their investment plus perks including access to hos...

Re: Season tickets
A couple of my personal thoughts on ST prices in the CF. I would be happy for the CF STs to stay the same price but would like this to be accompanied with a decision to make the whole concourse available to home fans for every game. Then ST holders get to actually enjoy the facilities. I wouldn’t al...

Re: Leyton Orient v Cheltenham Town
Why am I not entitled to my opinion. What is the point of the spare keeper. Contributed nothing all season. Could have had Olayinka on the bench or even King today. It is getting to the point where we have to take a gamble. You really are a bit of a miserable so and so, dissing any ideas or comment...

If I could pick I would have chosen Vale partially because it's close but equally they are in such poor form (2 wins in half a season). FGR won 6 games last season. One was against Bolton, another was against Sheffield Weds. Football is a mad, mad game. Yes, and we took 4 points out of 6 from Champ...

Re: Last day nerves - rules of engagement
I thought it worth pointing out the obvious rules of engagement for all on the nest tomorrow: 1) Under no circumstances WHATSOEVER can anyone jinx the day. If we're 4-0 up at half time and burton 5-0 down? Nobody say 'This looks good' 2) Reverse mockers are fine, and to be encouraged. 'Nutall could...

Re: See you at Stevenage!
Surely they’ll have to impose sticking to seat number. It’ll be chaos otherwise. I go to lots of away games, and can only recall one occasion (I think perhaps it was at Newport, about 3 or 4 years ago?) when ‘seat numbering’ was enforced. Otherwise, it’s normally “sit (or stand) wherever you like”....

Like Horlick, I have a couple (I think) of 'Robin's Reviews'. I do always buy a programme - if I can get one..! As ever, some are better than others - BUT, sadly, nowadays, the away programmes tend to give less away team content than they used too. For me still - it's a bit like an 'in-the-hand' re...

The sword of Damocles has not yet fallen.
12 wins down.
Will one more do it?
A 15th would have seen us safe, so as usual the countdown thread was on the money.

If we can be certain about anything it is that football is full of surprises.
Relegation has hung over us like the sword of Damocles since August. We are all holding our breath now, prepared for it to finally drop and end the dread. But we cross fingers it stays hanging a little longer.

It's almost as if they're waiting for our LCB and RCB to get isolated against their wingers - rapid balls from the centre out wide are leaving Shep and Davies one on one and they don't have the pace.
