Re: Fleetwood Town v Cheltenham Town
Carlisle drew their last game at home to Stevenage, they will likely also be relegated next weekend so right before playing us which probably isn't good for us. I hadn't realised Stevenage scored a 96th minute equaliser in that game! Last time we played Carlisle in April the result secured our prom...

Bookies have Fleetwood as 1/20 to go down after today they are done. Vale are the next favourites.

Solihull would be a decent away day next year, at least we won't have to go up the hill at Nailsworth.

Great win, keeps our chances alive and for the people worried about Port Vale keep in mind Bristol Rovers have been in terrible form lately. Cambridge result was a real body blow for us though.

Re: Shrewsbury big loss
Just a personal view - it is probably the case that a lot of Championship / League 1 / League 2 Clubs factor in money expected to be cascaded from the Premier League, hence running up some level of debt (not all of the debt, as that would likely constitute serious mismanagement for whatever reason)...

Re: Former CTFC chairman backs the Robins Trust
Is this PB backing out of the club? i dont think anybody can criticise PB and his contribution to CTFC. Like everybody else he is getting older and probably wants to relax and enjoy time with his family without the 24-7 stress that no doubt CTFC will give him. That's a weird response he hasn't been...

Not sure I would ever want to see the day the trust own the majority of the club. Being third largest shareholder should be enough we need benefactors like Keswick and Jennings for their financial support because the trust cannot provide that level of help.

This sounds to me like the trust have bought the shares at a discounted rate from Mr Baker, was there no option of a rights issue so the money went into the club?

Re: Robins Report Podcast
Very little loyalty in football, his work rate this season has been very good but you can't hide the fact he has only scored two goals all season. I would have liked to have kept him to compete for a spot in our front two but will be interested to see who takes a chance on him.

Re: Barnsley v Cheltenham Town
Agree about Sercombe, he's the midfielder who can arrive late in the box, Pett/Bonds/Kinsella are just never doing that so our goal threat reduces a lot without him. We are also missing physicality up top, Nuttal is a long way short of what we need, Goodwin/Street would bully defenders and cause spa...

Smallest squad in the league and carrying injuries to several key players is our biggest problem right now. That said the clubs with the larger squads will undoubtedly include their U-23 squads which only the bigger clubs will operate at this level. The clear outlier their is Fleetwood who invested ...

Re: The rest of the season
Connor Wickham was probably the only tried and tested league one footballer that was out there and given he has gone to Charlton (who tripled Alfie's wages) I doubt he was anywhere near our wage structure. Could we try again for Joe Doodoo though? RCS - I don't believe teams like Shrewsbury or Cambr...

Sorry Si ,but I respectfully question what you say. Finding 21k shouldn't be beyond a National League club let alone a L1 club, so to say we might become insolvent is scaremongering. Re: Darrell Clarke after Oxford United defeat
Yes - we're only in with a Scooby due to Darrell Clarke. If he goes, then many others go with him - Pett/Sercombe/Taylor/Ferry/Long. Davies/Southwood/Bonds/Lloyd/Harrop are probably worth a punt at this level - maybe Keena needs better/more creative players around him than we have and then he'll ge...

How many did we have yesterday, I could only think of two both for Taylor one which seemed a certain goal but defender blocked it and the other the free header which the keeper caught easily.art vandalay wrote: ↑02 Mar 2024, 23:05 A total of two shots on target in our last three games must be a big concern.

If we're gonna play like this we may as well bring Nuttall on now, at keast the ball might stick up front a bit. That's a fair point, Horteng, the pressure would've been truly intense...and GJ rebuilt the entire squad.
