Re: Gary Johnson sacked
This simply had to be done in my view and should have been done at the end of last season. It's not about the start to the season. It's the 92 games before that. We need someone who can breathe a bit of enthusiasm into the club. Someone to be upbeat about our prospects. To have a bit of spark and dr...

Re: Macclesfield Town v Cheltenham Town
I just want a manager to be upbeat about our prospects. To have a bit of spark and drive. Some conviction even. The club has a lot going for it. Well run off the pitch, solvent and a pot of money to put it right. In other words an attractive propostiion for an incoming manager. Gary sounds like it's...

Re: Macclesfield Town v Cheltenham Town
Macc missed a penalty and had a goal disallowed for offside, And they are bottom.
A step in the right direction yes but doesn't change anything for me.
The board may decide to give him more time but it's just papering over the cracks. Sorry

Re: Time to back Andy, the Players and the Club
The rounds on social media suggest less than 900 season tickets sold - that's a telling stat. I think it's clear Andy W wants rid of GJ, his interview on Friday was hardly supportive. The big question is who, in the boardroom, is backing him? Would the Trust FED have had a vote? Which way did he vo...

Forget the Pell money. Forget the Mo money. The fact is we haven't signed a recognisable centre forward and don't mention Macalinden. Even Gary didn't want to play him yesterday so what does that tell you? More importantly what message does that send to Macalinden? Has he already been discarded? I'm...

From the guy who claimed that selling Mo to Bristol City enabled Gary and Lee to line
their own pockets. If I could be arsed I'm sure I could find your post. Be careful what you throw around.

Don't be so precious
There's an abvious benefit in being sacked rather than resigning. Standard practice with most managers.
If you want to talk about 'evidence' it's all in front of you.

Forget the Mo money. The Pell money was available right from the off. There's no excuse for us being left with such an inadequate forward line.

All teams are bedding in players to a greater or lesser extent. No excuse there. If you look at the teams who have beaten us they all only have one win. Against us. His record since we got back into the league is really poor. No other manager would still be in a job with that record. His greatest fa...

Re: As disappointing as the first 3 games have been....
It's not just the first three games is it? It's the one point per game for the previous 92 that's the problem.
Gary really should have gone today. Now we take the risk of sacking him some time later when the Mo money
has been wasted. He's had all summer to sort this out. He should pay the price.

The problem was not that we sold Eisa. The problem is that we have not replaced him.
We knew he was going to go and given the money involved we should have been able to sign an adequate replacement
Still, that's now 9 defeats in the last 10 league games

Some gems from the nut-munchers forum regarding the late kit from Hummels: “Yup, bad bad PR for Hummel and they will find it hard to recover from this. Teams aren't going to want to go back to them. I wonder if we will consider breaking our 2 year contract” ‘What an utter shambles this famous club f...

Re: stick or twist?
Some good posts here. All I would say Del Boy is that if we are going to change the manager it should be done sooner rather than later when all the Mo money might be spent. A new manager coming in now inherits a well run club with most of the season to correct things and also (just as important) a f...

Re: Season ticket holder has lost interest
I have hardly missed a home league game in 20 years but the start of this season came round and there was none of the usual optimism and spark that makes the beginning of the season something to look forward to. The season we got relegated under Yates was probably the worst, but in terms of drift, l...

Re: Gary Johnson after the 1-0 defeat at Tranmere Rovers
We ought to be able to attract a good replacement for Gary given that the club is basically well run with the additional bonus of a wedge of money to spend on re-enforcements. Still plenty of time to improve the team and get us climbing the table Far worse to wait a few months and let this miserable...

I think we all feel like that Alf. I lost patience after FGR at home. We played one up front and conceded
the initiative to a team that was clearly low on confidence. We could almost have relegated them that afternoon.

Gary really should have gone at the end of last season. The new manager (too late for McCann now) would
have come in with some money to spend and a bit of drive and new ideas.
I hope we don't wait until the Pell and Eisa money has been spent before we act.

175K is more than enough for a 28 year old who has not so far made it to league level. If he was near the beginning of his career he could still improve and make the grade. At 28 he wont be improving any more. I'm reminded of Dan Holman who scored for fun in the conference but struggled in the leagu...

Up until now we've never been a Morecambe/Barnet type of club trying to survive on low gates.
Most of the time our attendances have been about average for this division
You have to ask yourself why crowds are falling back.

One of the strangest bits I saw from reading the transcript of Johnson post match interview is we don't have a nominated penalty taker. He said that the last two we've been given have been taken by whoever picked up the ball. I do find that quite strange. Yes situation over a season or during a gam...

I finally stopped making excuses for Gary after watching our 'performance' against Forest Green Rovers at home. He really should have gone at the end of last season. The sale of Eisa has been likely all summer so I assume we have a number of replacements lined up.
