Re: The board has just killed this club

As per my other post I agree the board do not come out of this well. Poor end to last season board should then either have sacked Gary or fully backed him (beyond 4 games !). If we sacked him we would have paid compensation on his contract but whoever came in could have done their own wheeling and d...

Questions for the board

What was said to Gary on Saturday ? What changed between Saturday and tonight ? Was it really as short term as "if we don't beat Macc you are toast". If he wasn't good enough tonight then he wasn't good enough on Saturday and we have wasted 4 days before loan window shuts to get someone ne...

As bad as last 6 months have been hope there are not too many short memories : - 2015/2015 season was as good a season following the club as I have had ; and he did it from scratch. 11 players made their debuts 3 years ago this month at Lincoln - finding / developing Mo ; (whilst I would rather we h...

League 2 wages

Chairman says Mo joined us on £300 a week ! Surely that is either wrong or there were lots of add ons for appearances etc.

Chief Exec of Mansfield on the radio yesterday (radio 5 live) said her players were on between £800 and £5000 a week !

Re: Danny Rowe

We are 75k apart with Fylde. JP reported player keen to join.

We would pay GJ more than that in compensation if he gets sacked this week I would suggest.

But Rowe, get him on loan til Jan, and get on with it.

Re: Gary Johnson after the 1-0 defeat at Tranmere Rovers

As at tonight I would be happy with floating in the bottom half ; currently we look sunk. Forget the "we're only two games in" nonsense. Other than Flinders there have been no redeeming features this season and the trend from the end of last season carries on. It's no good having a big ban...

Re: Twice in a week

The money won't last that long if relegated ; which is why any apparent strategy is fatally flawed.

Relegation would be very different financially this time to 2015 ; you cannot keep relying on something like a legacy or a player pulling you out of the mire.

Re: Twice in a week

Lord Elpuz - as for RCS, do you say if we had not sold Mo we would be insolvent ? Plainly not. We did not need Mo money to survive as was repeatedly said. On that basis, we should either have kept Mo or sold and used some of the money to improve team / squad. To do neither is the problem. If reports...

Re: Twice in a week

RCS - if that is the strategy then presumably we would be insolvent now without sale of Mo ?! Re sale of Mo - GJ must have known for weeks his son was interested ; that seems very unlikely to have only materialised in 48 hours before the sale. If that is right, he should have done his buying before ...

Re: Twice in a week

After one game compared to end of last season we have lost Mo, Pell, Winchester. No evidence (yet) we have replaced it. Players like Akinde have moved elsewhere. We have money in the bank and no strategy.

The transfer window was played very poorly.

Re: Does not bode well....

JP's reporting has been a bit hit and miss this summer which may reflect a desire not to let cat out of the bag. Question then is who is he working for ?

Our transfer strategy this summer has been very poor. Would love to play Gary and the board at a game of poker.

Our strategy since May has been very poor The squad should have gelled in pre season friendlies. Instead the one player who came out of those shining was Mo. It will percolate down ; premier clubs tend to do buisness post World Cup. Eisa will be sold when a Championship side needs to replace a striker gone elsewhere.

He will be gone before start of next season.

You will struggle to identify a more selfless chairman in the football league.

A superb servant to the club and town.

Remarkable how young he started and how long he kept going as chairman given his family and other business and political interests.

Safc's debt is a bit illusory as it is all owed to the owner ? Issue is whether he wants to realise anything or put into admin ? I accept Short seems to have no interest in doing anything.

They still have two more years of parachute payments !
