We have the same prob with Glos Rugby. Some people think that watching Ruggah improves their status.

Re: MARKETING
If the club can't be bothered to make a real effort then it can hardly complain that potential supporters can't be bothered to make the effort on match days.

Re: This impacts on us all
Interesting comment re Scottish football. I have relatives up there and most of the lads that I have met up there watch the English Prem and mourn the decline of their own football. Could part of this decline be because our Prem takes fewer Scottish players than the old First Div because we prefer t...

Re: This impacts on us all
Wages are down to player expectations. It was not that long ago that players did not expect to turn up in top of the range cars with their wages negotiated by agents. I wonder what the total amount is which is creamed off by Cheltenham players' agents over a season? How many of the spectators take a...

Re: Forest Green switch ends
I think over 90 mins the atmosphere is a reflection on what is happening on the pitch. The semi final is a good example. The crowd was well fired up before the game and there was a good atmosphere but ten minutes after the start this had gone because of the apparent lack of urgency and intent on the...

Totally agree with Taxidave. Reading posts on here sometimes you would think that the singing is more important than the game itself. It's division 2 football not Glee!

Re: New Stand
My point was not intended to be taken too literally but is basically that ambition has to be paid for. Most clubs realise that if their ground is only used once a week, including midweek games, then it is a wasted space for the rest of the time. Imagine if the Town Hall only had 30 events a year. Th...

Well, if we hang around waiting for someone to come in and smack £10 million on the counter we will be waiting a long time for new facilities. Did anyone on here who owns their own house pay cash for it?

Re: New Stand
As long as it has a bar in it which is open throughout the game, with very comfy seats and nice decor, selling real ale at extremely low prices, and there are TVs with Sky Sports on in every corner, and at least 75 food outlets to avoid any queues at all, then I guess people would be happy with a s...

Sanford Park Ale House in large letters' at the front. Bit of a clue there. Agree with previous comments re The Nest. Don't think it's a decent place to drink and poor beer selection. Really needs dragging into the 21st century. They would poss argue that they don't get the midweek trade to turn ove...

Re: Sudeley Arms closing
So called 'pub company' freeholders constantly pushing up rents etc; no doubt these pubs will be turned into lucrative apartments making a nice little profit when sold.
There is still a pub in the vicinity but it gets busy enough as it is.
Is this not good news for the bars at WR?

Re: Kids and CTFC
I think the glamour of the Prem is relevant. The old First Division certainly didn't get the TV and media coverage that the Prem gets and most kids opportunity to watch a whole live game was the Cup Final, which is why it was so important. This season I didn't know it was on till I looked at the pap...

And does anyone think we are almost looked down on by the Authorities for playing by the financial rules? You can't help getting the impression that they would rather have an allegedly financially dodgy club like Swindle in the league than us.
