Scored 15 goals in a season for us, same as Duffy got two seasons ago, yet all he gets is vitriol while Duffy is liked.
Richards spent a lot of his one season on the right wing as well.

Yeah but apparently penalties don't count Mark
I think it's more to do with effort put in during time here.MarkHalliwell wrote:Scored 15 goals in a season for us, same as Duffy got two seasons ago, yet all he gets is vitriol while Duffy is liked.

When Duffy's on the pitch he buzzes around like a wasp on fire. Richards would rarely track back onside after an attack, if a ball was played for him to run on to he would complain because it should have been played to his feet.
When he played for Burton against us he hadn't changed. Just wandered past the Wymans up in the In2Print as Cheltenham went on the attack, offside and his midfield encouraging him to actually break into a jog!
Wonder how many he'd score of he actually worked during a game.

The difference between Duffy and Richards is simple. Attitude, work rate and hunger. All attributes that Richards lacked and Duffy has.

In a pre-season game at Bishops Cleeve in the MA days MA shouted at Richards from the dugout 'Justin, what's wrong with your legs?' to which a confused looking Richards replied 'nothing' so MA shouted 'well f#!$ run then!'

I also disagree regarding Duffy's attitude - he always frustrated me with his petulance on the field, and always needed things to go his way. He is a good bloke off the field, but I am not disappointed that he is leaving.
