We better get that contract extension signed but there is no way we would realistically sell unless it was a decent six figure fee or at least I hope not.

It is not so little, it is more than double what we paid for him. He cannot cross the ball and his finishing is erratic at best, and he barely set the league alight last year.
Ah well another one of our better players could be on there way.Still a few will be happy as they have had the knives out for him for ages.Wonder who 's next for the knockers

step over after step over....... No end product..... Cant cross and every shot is powder puff.
Cash in...... Try and make some money at the same time
SSHHH...dont tell them that on a public message board.
Really? Considering he draws 2 defenders whenever he's on the pitch, wins a lot of free kicks, gets a lot of opposition players booked, and generally terrorizes defences, I think you may be a bit harsh in your criticism.Horteng wrote:I agree with MH....... £150k tops....... Id be happy with £100k just to get rid

If do sell, it's not the value we place on McGlashan that matters to me - but the amount of money we need to replace him.
If we need to sell for £300k to get a replacement who is the same or better then we must hold out for £300k in my view.

What are you implying?Pie wrote: I'm sure he would want to.
Well that would fall in line with our decision to sell Duff for a packet of peanuts and a friendly. £120k will would not even cover a decent two year contract for a player plus Aldershot have a 25% sell on clause it would be madness to consider selling for less than say £200k.Pie wrote:If the club were offered anything more than £120k I believe we would let him talk to the club.

Reject all offers unless we have a replacement lined up to come in the following morning.
Whoa there Robin! I'm confused....Robin wrote:Well that would fall in line with our decision to sell Duff for a packet of peanuts and a friendly. £120k will would not even cover a decent two year contract for a player plus Aldershot have a 25% sell on clause it would be madness to consider selling for less than say £200k.Pie wrote:If the club were offered anything more than £120k I believe we would let him talk to the club.

First you say "if they have a sell on clause" and now you're saying they do have and it's 25%?
Or is this your dodgy figures showing their face again??

I can't see any championship clubs being prepared to pay £300k for JM if he only has 1 year left on his contract.
Why would you when you can have a quiet word with his agent, get him to refuse signing any extension and then, come January, the ball is in the player/agent court.

25%?Robin wrote:I'm virtually certain they have a sell on clause, it was announced there end when we signed him.
We are fortunate that we don`t have to become a selling club, thanks to the large amount of money we receive from our neighbours ?Robin wrote:http://www1.skysports.com/football/news ... -McGlashan

Very interesting that the valuations are all over the place.
I think the player had a blistering first season and justified the hype. Last season was a bit of an anti climax as opponents had worked him out and the crossing is a real issue in his play. Didn't play every game towards the end of last season either.
On the other hand, he is normally doubled up on so any winger is going to be restricted and he is still a very useful player in the squad.
Would say that on balance, cashing in at the right price would be the way forward - that media hype about being one of the best in the lower leagues will help. Accept bids of £200,000 which will give Shots £50,000 if they have their 25% clause as has been speculated and use the remaining money to strengthen.
I think if we can use the hype to our advantage now then we can avoid losing out in the long run.

I did suggest the other day we need extensions signed by McGashan and Sido
What have they got to loose.
Agents will be working hard to get them more money and a move but the player gets a win win situation
1 an extension on more money
2 include a minimum sale price which the agent then touts around
3 player moves on better wages
however there are some on here who used him as a whipping boy.
Its his fault we didnt score more goals because he wasnt in the right place at the right time, he cannot cross a ball, beat a man , shoot etc
When you win the corner foul are double marked get the full back booked and or sent off and then put on the half way line for corners, then it is obvious McGlashans fault and no one elses ( sarcastic comments)
I would be looking for £200K plus sell ons and perfomance clauses ie no of games played , goals scored etc
realistically £150K but I would rather see him in our team with 2 years to go
If he is still with us come September I just hope he turns on the style and ability big time
I wonder who the bully boys will pick on when hes gone
