Probably be said before but what is our ideal squad size and what positions do we need to fill?

Keeper - I sense Roberts will move on.

Another defender. What happened to that lad from Birmingham (name escapes me)
Two Midfielders
Left sided player (winger/striker) - I guess Grimes would have fitted that bill.
Strikers (1 or 2?)

that will take us to 20/21 - and with loans an option I reckon that will be it. Certainly 1 of the midfielders, the winger and 1 striker need to be first teamers and not squaddies.

If i was mark yates i would be at bakers office door tommorow pleading for my budget to be increased to sign grant mccann on a free transfer.

Agree with what you say nesty, those are the positions i would go for.

Ideal squad size 20-22 including first year pros.

On the assumption that Pack and Roberts leave I believe we need the following:
Reserve keeper
Centre half (ideally one who can also cover left back)
One first choice striker
One striker as cover
Left winger (or someone who can operate down the left flank)
A creative central midfielder.

Agreed with Robin. If I had a choice of free agents (and making a guess of what our budget can manage):

Reserve keeper - don't care, perhaps a cheap loan?
Centre half (ideally one who can also cover left back) - Saah would be good cover but wages might be an issue.
One first choice striker - target man please - Howe perhaps.
One striker as cover - a loan, preferably someone with pace - then we cover all bases.
Left winger (or someone who can operate down the left flank) - Rooney would do nicely, perhaps Alan Gow if he is looking for a move.
A creative central midfielder - ideally, I would like someone with a bit of strength too - someone like Leven; however, Guttridge might be the type Yates will be looking at.

Gutteridge may be signing for Luton apparently.

I cannot believe that Kilmarnock can afford any higher wages than us.

He is re-signing for Peterborough and has even declared his intention on twitter.

I agree, spot on assessment. We need to get moving.

I presume a bit more activity will occur after July the 1st as player's contracts will expire?

I think that may force the hand of some, you would expect the majority of activity to be completed for all clubs in next two weeks.

I am hoping for a couple of signings over the next couple of days. It is very difficult playing FIFA with no substitutes.

I signed Morgan on a free transfer as a sub and he ended up being a brilliant striker on FIFA wonder if we are in for him in real life.

Jack Deaman

Never played a game but would be good as 'Hooman' type cover

Not sure Howe is the kind player we need.

Marvin Morgan is a good striker but don't we already have a target man in Harrison?

Would like to think Harrison will be partnering a target man this season so that he can actually face the goal and attack defences.

Odd that there was higher up interest, I didn't think he was a regular at Shrewsbury last season.

So is it possible we will sign this 'in demand striker' today?

Ive got a feeling the new signing will be niether Bayo or Howe.

Who else is available in league 2
