Yet again bides his time and bags us another great signing in Matt Richards. Perfect for league 2 and being versatile gives us so many more options for next season. Winger or Striker next.

Agree, really good signing by MY and the team.
Wonder if he would have offered him a contract if Grimes had stayed true to his word.

I suspect MY would have done. He has said before that he signs the best players he can first, and then works out a system.

I am not sure he said that

At the last forum he was asked a question about players or system first and he didnt really answer it

He answers that question explicitly in this video from around 4.45 onwards - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORhG3lJ5fHQ" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

So I misremembered slightly - a 'bit of both'.

Richards and Grimes are polar opposites.

Richards is workmanlike, gets his foot in and passes the ball. Grimes is low work rate but high on skill. They are in no way similar apart from both good footballers.

Matt Richards ? WOW !! Well done Mark Yates and the Directors - you've bagged CTFC a top player with loads of experience right where it is needed and added another leader on the field. I am really excited about the way the Team is shaping up for this new season. Opposition are gonna get hurt.
Exciting times ahead.

Grimes? You've made a massive mistake turning down the Rubies. As Jim Bowen (Bullseye) would have said to Grimes, "Look what you could've won".
