Signs for Northampton for two years. So much for chasing a Championship club!

Can't honestly say that he did much for me when he was here and I wasn't all that impressed by his attitude. Staying up until 4/5am to tweet about NBA for instance. Decent technically, but not a lot else.

Did well against them in the league game so might have been what persuaded Boothroyd to sign him. Does pose the question as to a method of judging players as MY seems to go for players that have performed well against us in the past.

Best of luck to him,

He seemed to be injured half the time so doubt cobblers will see that much of him :D

Yes I've not feelings either positive or negative about this. At times he showed some quality but at other times the games would just pass him buy, seems a nice guy but not sure his football career is his priority anymore.

Must be their replacement for Guttridge, I'd rather have M.Richards instead of Carter.

Plenty of experience, but rarely looked anything more than a squad player. No loss whatsoever, from our perspective.

Odd move considering the noises he was making. Stroppy and thinks he's better than L2, but he isn't anymore. Maybe if he got his head down and gave it 100% he might be. It's probably all Cheltenham's fault he couldn't get a move to a higher league, though...

I think he'll be a good signing for them. He needed to be playing every week and given the reins as the creative player, which we couldn't afford to do given that we had a better player in Pack.

better players out there than coach carter
he did have probably his best game against the cobblers at sixfields in september
was coming back from long lay off and possibly found it more difficult to live up to reputation
this is his last roll of the dice and I think we have better at WR

I think it is easy to say no loss but he still scored 6 goals from us and I agree with Uppy, I think he was a bit restricted due to role he played with Pack in the team.

I have said it before but it does worry me that we have lost about 1/3 of our goals from last season which came from the 3 midfielders who left (Pack, Mo and Carter who had 20 between them and I guess we scored 60-70. ) I

Personally, I like the way our goals have been well distributed over the team with no reliance on one man. I think this season we may be very reliant on one or two people!

He didn't really want to be here anyway. He wanted to use us as a stepping stone to move back up the leagues and he ends up at Northampton

i do think he was a player who was much better than our league at the start of the season. He controlled games and won a lot of them on his own i thought when he played as the creative player behind the striker. But then MY decided to chop and change things too readily and put his faith in Pack, which was probably the right call BUT i still think he could play at a higher level. and i think he is one of those players which as the quality gets better he performs better as well.

Anyone else finding it insulting Sky reporting that Carter rejected a new deal here to sign for Northampton?

We didn't offer Carter a contract, he was released.

As above, no deal was offered, he was released.
Think he could do well with AB in charge there.

We just have to get" in his face" to make him totally ineffective when we play them.

Sky reported it as though he turned us down to go there when we never even offered him a deal.

All the UK media loves to have a dig at CTFC - just a fact of life.
