Here we go again, the start of a fresh season and cant wait. What will be in store for us this time.Is it promotion, will it be a great run in the F.A. cup, we never know thats why we all put our selves through it every year. All we do know is it will be a roller coaster some great performances and some real howlers hopefully less of the howlers.
Lets get behind the team maybe this time next year we will be kicking off in Div1 next season just go with an open mind good luck to all of us.
Full of optimism

Our first football league game as a 2-0 defeat at home to Rochdale. (7 August)
Then 12th August 2000 - Mansfield (H) 2-2
11th August 2001 - Leyton Orient (H) 1-1 Jason White scores!
10th August 2002 - Wigan Athletic (H) 0-2
9th August 2003 - Southend (A) 0-2
7th August 2004 - Southend (A) 2-0 - the first opening day win was the first time I missed the opening Football League game.
I was at the Asian Cup Final in Beijing, but was back in time to see us lose at home to Scunthorpe on the Tuesday!
6th August 2005 - Bury (H) 2-1.
5th August 2006 - Swansea (A) 2-1. Surely our best opening day game? An away win, and a ground tick for me.
11th August 2007 - Gillingham (H) 1-0 - this time my return from a foreign trip was well timed, I did not miss this, despite seeing games in midweek in Vietnam
9th August 2008 - Northampton (A) 2-4
8th August 2009 - Grimsby (H) 2-1
7th August 2010 - Gillingham (A) 1-1
6th August 2011 - Gillingham (A) 0-1
18th August 2012 - Dagenham & Redbridge (H) 2-0, although last season the league preceeded the League game and we drew 1-1 at home to Milton Keynes, before losing on penalties.
3rd August 2013 - Burton Albion (H). I make that 9/15 at home. We have therefore been fortunate in the ties, especially as home on the opening day almost always means home on the final day. 2004 is still the only opening day I have missed since we joined the league

Before you're post Leo I was thinking "Swansea away is the best opening day" I can remember.
I want to smash Burton today after their over-achievement last season and to prove to them what we are about following the disgraceful performance put in at their place last season.
