Selfish I know but my fingers crossed for Newcastle Away - can walk round in 10 mins after work.
Also means I can finally write my guide to Newcastle ale houses for the benefit of CTFC fans.

So there are 24 seeds. Surely there are more non-seeds than that left? How do they decide which non-seeds play each other?

70 teams competed in Rnd 1 (All of Championship, L1 and L2 with the exception of Wigan (Europa) and whoever was give a Bye).Shade wrote:About 48 teams left sounds right to me considering half got knocked out the last couple of nights, and the European PL teams don't come in yet. But I don't even know if all the Championship teams were in R1, so...
So that is 35 teams left in and 22 still to play.
Seven (Euro teams) of those 22 are not joining until Rnd 3.
So I make it 35 + 15 in Round 2 = 50 teams.
25 teams go through to Rnd 3 + the seven = 32.
Then we're all sorted for 32>16>8>4>2>1 (CTFC?)
Anyway, I think I miscounted the seeds - there are 25, which given there are 50 teams competing Rnd 2, makes sense.
Correct, 24 known seeds plus one to be decided on tonight's results.
Leeds beat Chesterfield to become the 25th seed.

not this season as Carlisle have just beaten the chicken farmersSi Robin wrote:I agree, one of those two.
Personally, I wouldn't mind an away draw at Ewood Park as I have family who are Blackburn supporters.

Villa home or away I quite like. If we were to be drawn at home against a top half premier league side we might have a chance of being on sky (or am I just being greedy after last year?)

From a selfish point of view. A Premier League team (pref Liverpool) at home. I work until 6 and have very little holiday left unbooked
