A nice little reward from our hard working, childhood West Ham supporting Chairman.
Hope its Tuesday, much easier to be off work for that.
Had a feeling it would be West Ham had that nice little ring and reward to Paul Baker for all his hard work over the years to see his team play his other team.
Hoping I can make it as I'm away visiting in Great Yarmouth that week now just got to work out if its easier to drive there and back or travel on the train and stay in london for the night.

Slightly disappointing that it'll have to be done by car or coach. There are some good pubs en route from Paddington that would have been worth sampling.
The away end at Upton Park is absolutely dire though, so manage your expectations.
Other than that, good draw!

I will travel up by train and stay overnight so should be grateful if you would pass on your knowledge.Jerry St Clair wrote:Slightly disappointing that it'll have to be done by car or coach. There are some good pubs en route from Paddington that would have been worth sampling.

Some little Haringey urchin at White Hart Lane (I was next to the away fans, well the other side of the net) who was adamant to abuse CTFC and their fans, but lacked enough brain power to do so, shouted "you're playing like West Ham!" as an insult. To which we went "Thanks, we'll take that! - West Ham, it's just like watching West Ham, just like Watching West Ham".
So we should give them a good game. Can Troy stop Andy Carroll?

The Dispensary at Tower Hill - http://www.thedispensarylondon.co.uk/index.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;taxidave wrote:I will travel up by train and stay overnight so should be grateful if you would pass on your knowledge.Jerry St Clair wrote:Slightly disappointing that it'll have to be done by car or coach. The Peacock at Aldgate - http://www.allinlondon.co.uk/clubs_bars/review-187.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The Good Samaritan at Whitechapel - http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/ ... hitechapel" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
All very different pubs, depending on what you like. The Dispensary is Grade II listed and former Camra pub of the year, The Peacock is lively and has an interesting history (identified to be headquarters of the Gestapo in the event of a German invasion!) and The Good Samaritan is part of The Royal London Hospital and is a proper, old-fashioned boozer.

I went to Upton park last season with my uncle who supports them for the Arsenal game. Iam an Arsenal fan and being in with the hammers fans was an experience to say the least! A close atmospheric ground and even walked up green street. Great day, looking forward to hopefully returning...maybe even coming away with my team winning again Would recommend anyone to go there to see the east end football experience.
