I must add, that the only real downer on the day we away fans had yesterday was the stewarding.

A fair few fans weren't allowed to enter the ground as they were deemed 'drunk' when they were far from drunk, and the amount of police, some with riot gear outside the away end was intimidating, and the body checks on every away fan caused large lines with only 2 turnstiles open.

The stewards inside the ground weren't much better. I think trying to get 900 people to sit in their correct seats caused them more problems than it could have letting people sit where they like. I've attended every away match over the last year, and I've never been forced to sit in the seat on my ticket. Also, a group of us (singing group) were told we could go and sit in the stand on the side so we could all be together and sing, about 5 minutes after we'd moved, a different steward came over and told us we weren't allowed to sit there and we got moved back. Eventually, people just resorted to standing at the front of the stand or on the steps, which the stewards could have avoided easily.

The police escort out of the ground was pretty ridiculous as well. We aren't exactly known for causing trouble, and neither are you I don't think.

Why on earth so heavy handed?

ALL grounds should have unreserved seating for away fans, its so simple

I can only think whatever the situation involving the police you have brought it on yourself, we all know the police have their own intelligence network regarding football, if they deemed it necessary to keep a close watch on you then that’s ok by me, as for stewards we’ve had our own issues when travelling that’s part and parcel of the game.

Yup - Argyle's reputation and past behaviour preceded them. Same reason you had the football-special cattle train once to save the public from harm.

stop whining
If fans are thought to be drunk, keep them out.
I've felt the force of your stewards at Home Park in the past for no good reason too.. deal with it

Stewards weren't heavy handed enough, there were still a couple of Argyle fans on the pitch when they scored. Time to get the batons out to keep these riff-raff in check ;)
