Seems to me Yates stuggles to actually get a team to gel. This season so far you wouldn't say one particular player had a shocking game more the tactics were wrong.
Last year when we played teams like Gillingham and Rotherham man for man we had better players imo. But the difference is their managers got them playing a style and system that was successful for them something Yates has failed to do previous seasons. He even admitted in an interview he thinks Cheltenham havent got a style atm.
I think Yates has a good eye for a player but fails to mould them all into a successful system and keep them all happy. My question is he capable of forming a promotion winning squad or do we need maybe a director of football to perhaps help him out?
