First thirty mins:
Brown 6
Lowe: hoof ball no control 4
Elliot: non existent 3
Innis: lost 3
Sido: hoof no position 3
McG: tried but never got a pass 5
Richards and Noble: red sea parting no control 2
Deering: too deep no passing 3
Gornell and Gilly: no service tried 6

After the sub, what a transformation.

Sido: better on right. Poor for goal two but came into it. 7
Lowe: Strong. Great blocks in injury time 8
Elliot: standard 6
Richards: Controlled the left. Composed and good passing. 8
McG: two goals. Confidence up. 8
Penn: Bossed it. 8
Noble: freed by Penn to create. 7
Deering: Further forward. But no wing play and was quiet in the hole 6
Gornell: Nice set up play and passing 7
Gilly: tired as it went 6

Subs:
Zac: Gave it a go. Unlucky not to win it 7
Byron: Won good headers in the box. Nice touches. Played a part in injury time drama 7

Yates: injury was lucky as it forced him to make the correct changes. Round pegs in round holes next game please.

Yes - see where I said Richards and Noble. First thirty the midfield was too dire to give them individual scores.

Elliott - clearing balls in the air 8 ; defensively when faced with pace on the ground 2

He was embarrassed by second goal

Au contraire
Mcglashen had several chances to take the East on in the first thirty minutes but failed to get a telling cross in .
Gornell and Gilly had plenty of ball but didn't link up well.
Penn was partly to blame for the second trying to nick the ball instead of getting behind it and helping Elliottt out.
But where was Richards ?
On the whole tho I thought Richards at left back worked well.
Noble did everthing right in the second half and is deffo worth a full time.
On the whole should give the team some confidence to look forward to Oxford.
Never gave up and unlucky not to shade it at the end.
Certainly seem to be facing the form teams early on so lets just hope Mark and Neil can push on from here

Bit of a mixed bag really, Pompey players lacked the individual ability of ours but made up for it with higher work rate and better organisation. Individual mistakes cost us big time but overall not really good enough over ninety minutes if we are serious about promotion.

Brown - not a great deal to do despite our defensive frailities (6)
Lowe - awful at right back but improved a lot when he went to centre half (6.5)
Elliott - At fault for both goals however otherwise strong (6.5)
Innis - Bullied by Ageymang (5)
Jombati - back to his best, good going forward and sound against the dangerous Barcham (7)
McGlashan - caused them all sorts of problems and two well taken goals MotM (7.5)
Richards - over ran in midfield but extremely solid in defence (7)
Noble - tried to make things happen, a clone of Pack with a little more mobility and tackling (7)
Deering - tried hard, played OK but never a winger and should not be played there (5.5)
Gillespie - Tried hard, lots of "you don't know what you're doing" chants when he was subbed (6.5)
Gornell - very unlucky to have the winner disallowed but otherwise a true workhorse, holds the ball so well too (7)
Subs
Penn - Played like he had a point to prove, all over the pitch (7)
Kotwica - not really in the game, missed a good chance with the header (6)
Harrison - oh dear, some of the stick from the LMI was out of order but he was poor, barely won a header, failed to chase down and gave the ball away (5)

You can not give Elliot 6.5 when he was at fault for both goals and nearly a third, but I am sure he will bounce back.
(Why was he not captain. I dont like keepers as captain)
If he was concussed last week probably should not have played
Innis pulled up after about 10 surprised he lasted so long.
Sido has hoof ball written over it. Give him a ball in space and I immediately think dont loose it Sido and he does sometimes
