I disagree with that. Only in the final 15 minutes when we tired and they made their subs did they look a better team than us.taxidave wrote:But they were still far better than us.R_Payney wrote:We won't go down. Rochdale were awful and they're joint top

We LOST - they were the better team over NINETY minutes - yes we played well for 75 minutes but a game is NINETY minutes long, therefore OVERALL - they were the better team...they were sh!t...but we were sh!tter in the end.

I thought we were well on top first 15 or so until CBB got injured
We lost the impetus and they organised
50/50 there after until we scored and muppet Yates changes it
As to substitutes Gornell usually puts in a shift
McGlashan was on a yellow so why not deering in the hole
We need another mobile defender LB or RB so we can change them
If Yates is really being offered prem loans get 2 in quick
Its his job at stake, next saturday will be a big decider on his future unless we trash Morecombe

Payney Rochdale were not awful they were by far a much better footballing side today - who knew how to pass and move.
They looked liked a team full of confidence whereas we didn't.

Disagree Andy, it was a classic smash and grab, can't see how they were the better team we just gifted them the win. But I do agree both teams were c!#p, just thought we were less c!#p.Andy wrote:"We were the better team overall..." ??????!!!!!!!??????

Look at the stats. They had 56% possession to our 44%, and 7 shots to our 1 (the BBC seem to have missed the one Russ blazed over the bar). If Rochdale were ordinary then we were less than ordinary. I don't recall Lillis being called on make a save.Robin wrote:Yes, but that is why most of us are so frustrated Rochdale were very ordinary to say the least and we seemingly contrived to give them the three points (largely thanks to teh manager).

We've conceded 24 goals in 12 league games, the worst in the league. Two many mistakes which keeps happening, their 2nd goal was terrible defending, first not much better. No service to the front two, our most attacking midfielder wasted now in a role that doesn't suit. Rarely does a manager make no substitutions and a side loses. Last 15mins players were clearly tiring but still no changes. If we're playing Lowe at Centre Half then we need a right back on loan as Sido no longer up to the task.

I thought our performance today was total and utter c!#p. The first half was tedious beyond belief - we didn't do a single thing to stir any interest. We then started the second half as we had against Wimbledon and began to look interested, albeit without posing much threat, before retreating too deep to defend a 1-0 lead.
We had a grand total of 2 shots today in a home game. That's not 2 shots on target, it's 2 shots of any description. Absolutely pathetic. Plus loads of long ball stuff, our midfield were never in it etc and I simply fail to understand how anyone could claim that we were the better team or even deserved anything from the game. If that's how we're going to play, then someone please show me the door.
For what it's worth, I thought Rochdale were half decent. They passed well and delivered some quality crosses behind our defence that only needed a touch, although ultimately they troubled Brown only slightly more than we troubled their keeper. Ironically, the most action their keeper saw in the first half was when Russ lofted a drop ball into the crowd and one of their fans headed it back to him.
From what I've seen so far this season, our performances have pretty much been relegation standard. 12 points from 12 games certainly is relegation standard, and we have the second worst goal difference. It just remains to be seen which of the bottom 8 are able to get things together and pull themselves out of the rut. We have enough quality up front to be able to do this but I think we're really struggling elsewhere in the team, and it doesn't help that we seem to keep playing games without Yates coming any closer to understanding his preferred formation or starting 11.
I know we keep saying that the next couple of games are crucial, but it still holds. A point against Morecambe and defeat at the Cobblers would, I think, be the end of the line for Yates.

And I forgot to even mention their second goal which hit one of their players smack in the face, the same player then mis-hit his pass, and they still managed to get a goal out of it!

Isn't it odd how I said more or less the same thing about our game last week and got shouted down on this forum by a load of people whose only knowledge of the match was what they heard on the radio. Now perhaps after witnessing another load of absolute dross people will start to believe that we really are cr@p and are heading for a relegation scrap unless there are some drastic changes.I thought our performance today was total and utter c!#p. top comments, thank god someone was at the same game.
We had no shape, no apparent game plan and no apparent urgency. The players didnt look interested, something is very wrong at the club, anyone who cant see it must be blind.

One major difference. Last time we were good enough to win and did, whereas this week we were not good enough to win so lost.taxidave wrote:Isn't it odd how I said more or less the same thing about our game last week and got shouted down on this forum by a load of people whose only knowledge of the match was what they heard on the radio. But neither results alter the fact that we were rubbish in both games, which if you hadn't realised, (and it can be difficult to get your point across to people who are unable or refuse to accept another point of view) was the point I was trying to make.RegencyCheltenhamSpa wrote: One major difference. Nothing to do with changing ownership Ralph. Purely coincidence that my posting tone has changed.Ralph wrote:

I've always been quite diplomatic in past but the change has come because of the appalling non tactical, non strategic, sh1t I've been watching on the pitch.

He has a point though - over the whole game they were better and were able to score one more than us.RED ROB wrote:That's very good ralph, here we are debating the debacle yesterday and fair play you come up with that little gem.they got 3 pts and we got zero pts. I do not care if we outplay a team for 94 minutes without scoring and they score a 95th minute winner - over the whole game they were the better team as they were able to score and we were not.
