I would have thought that probably the wettest autumn for many years would be the main reason but I am sure you have other ideas.51/84 wrote:I have to say I thought the goal areas and the area in front of the dugouts are starting to show some wear and tear and we all know why that is

Having regard to what the pitch took against Rochdale and Hartlepool, thenthe rain over the last week, I don't think it is too bad
The touchlines have been bare for a long time already, since the game a couple of months ago when it rained so hard at half time you could barely see from one side of the pitch to the other. Still a good pitch though at the moment. Gonna take a hammering over the next few weeks though.

as it happens, i was just remarking at half time, how much better the pitch was holding up this year. Have to say i do object to some linesmen running the line actually on the pitch to avoid the muddy strip they should be on.

Maybe the club could look at installing 3G/field turf along the sidelines like some clubs are doing now to avoid the winter wear and tear

It is up to the referee which halves they run and he runs the opposite diagonal.asl wrote:Couldn't the linesmen alternate the half of the pitch they run on? Why is it always the same half?

must be then, every ref we have had has the same idea as to which line is run
