CBB

One of our better players yesterday. Certainly wasn't as bad as half of you are making out. Once again unfairly treated because we lost, both goals were Brown's fault, CBB's throw led to our goal and he put in some decent crosses bar the one where he shanked it AFTER beating the man. Defending was much better and generally had a better game v their number 11. People giving Richards and Brown higher ratings seriously need to watch the game more closely.

I think your post proves the point the OP was trying to make, Robin.
Not worse than a few others = no justification for picking on CBB more than the others.

I dont rate cbb at all,but then i dont rate many of our players at the moment.most suprised by how poor matt richards is,when hes played against us for shrews hes been the best player on the pitch.i havent seen him perform like that for us at any point this season, his crossing and corners are more often than not poor.

CBB wasn't too bad yesterday, I can think of a few who were much worse (Troy Brown, Matt Richards) There was no pressure on Nicky Hunt's cross for the first goal and Troy Brown misjudged the ball which led to Bowerman's header. Troy Brown also at fault for the second goal he let Bowerman get the cross in too easily and the tracking back and marking was awful as Accrington had two players queuing up to put the ball in the net.
Given he has some of the best passing stats at the club I think that is a silly quesitonJebolani wrote:Has anyone seen Matt Richards pass the ball more than 10 times in a match? Genuine question.
That said, I thought Matt Richards had his worst game for CTFC yesterday, only decent thing was the sublime pass to Jamie when he hit the screamer off the cross bar.
We now have a few players who performed well for opponents against us but have now gone off the boil.CS85 wrote:I dont rate cbb at all,but then i dont rate many of our players at the moment.most suprised by how poor matt richards is,when hes played against us for shrews hes been the best player on the pitch.i havent seen him perform like that for us at any point this season, his crossing and corners are more often than not poor.
Draw your own conclusions.
Please explain where CBB should have been at this point of the game. He appears from this pitcure to be close to his man, ready to challenge if the ball came out in that directionJebolani wrote:I was sad enough to make this regarding first goal.
Horrific.
If I recall, CBB had followed the right winger and, like you say, was close to his man outside of the picture to the right.
I actually received a text at half-time by someone saying that CBB is a liability, I responded saying he couldn't possibly be blamed for either goal. No response was forthcoming.

He should have closed down the player to prevent the cross in the first place. Also, gave away unnecessary free kicks on the edge of the area, which thankfully they didn't score from. However, I don't want to single out CBB, since as a team we didn't close down, just retreated to the edge of the area. By comparison, AS were quick to close us down high up the pitch, not allowing us time to pick a decent cross.leohoenig wrote:Please explain where CBB should have been at this point of the game. Also, we have a very poor midfield and there don't seem to be any leaders on the pitch. We need a decent Captain who can organise and motivate the team on the pitch.

This is a joke isn't it? The bloke who crossed it was a right back, CBB was following the right winger, had he attempted to close down the right back then he'd have probably passed to the winger and you'd be moaning that he shouldn't have let his man get free.
Roofe is at fault for not closing his man down.

Happy to be corrected, but my main issue was with the team as a whole not closing players down, rather than singling out individuals.
My main issue with Bowerman is he would have given us more than Vincent as he had our preseason!
I dont believe we have seen a LB as poor as CBB in the league, Perhaps Ridley before maddog arrived but at least he could throw the ball further than most
When CBB goes hes not going to be playing league football its just unfortunate that we will probably have to pay him off at some stage
Could have been another Jombati but isnt but he is cheap
