For York City:

"In-form York looking upwards after exhilarating draw with Burton

Nigel Worthington has led a remarkable revival at City, who matched fellow promotion challengers in a vibrant stalemate.

Their climb up the table stems from security at the back, to which Russell Penn also contributed with panther-like closing down in front of the two giraffes, Keith Lowe and John McCombe."

Surplus to requirments here sold on so we could get better........hmmm.Marvelous what a good manager can get out of players that couldnt get a look in at their old club.

so lets just examine the issues regarding Russ Penn

Not making the team
not performing well
not fitting the tactics
team captain
team spokesman by all accounts

other factors that may have influenced the situation
just got married, change in lifestyles
spokesman to manager
suddenly discover you are well down the pay pecking order
not guaranteed a start
not wining
last two lead to no bonus for the month
not got same work and team spirit on the pitch
seen your mates shown the door Benno and Lowe others frozen out Duffy

So if you are unhappy or get better offer
Same goes for fans if unhappy or got something better to do move

I accept Russ is no longer a Cheltenham Town player, that does not mean I cannot support him and his progress at York City. He is a player I have great respect for and like many other Cheltenham Town players who've left such as McCann, Pack and M.Duff I am interested in their careers because of what they did for this club.

I'm one not coming so regularly. Reason? The lack of quality, the formation, the lack of passion. Add to that the inability of management to change things. ( is that enough?)

not coming may be due to your age especially if theres no passion
Sometimes its difficult to get up for it
Try taking the blue tablets and things will be alright if you just dont worry
Its only a blip and you will be able to get back to your normal standards

It is not the people on here, and their reasons for complaint that we have to worry about. If you care about the club enough to make the number of posts the regulars on here make, then you are just waiting for an excuse to start coming to the games again. The people we have to worry about are those that do not post, do not write to the newspapers, but just stop coming without looking back - because those are the people we will have trouble in encouraging back to the ground

Now, people on here may quote prices, food queues, quality of food, quality of football and even the tannoy - but in reality it is a combination of all the little complaints that add up.

I want the trust to have the mandate to find out what needs to be done to get more people into the ground, but I find that neither the support or the board wants to give us that mandate. Even if we had the mandate, who would help carry out a survey. Would anyone on join in in accosting perfect strangers on Cheltenham High Street, at the Cricket Festival or the Racecourse to ask their opinions on the football club? (That means being one of those people with a clipboard that you habitually avoid while out shopping?) Ideally, I would want to be able to offer discount vouchers to a game to those answering the questions. I want to be able to do the same at a couple of home games, but I cannot as we are so short of volunteers that there is no one to cover the raffle sales if I was running a survey.

If you want the club to be responsve to the fans, then you need to both sign up to the trust, and then make sure the trust knows your opinions.

I am still attending all home games but only because I have a season ticket and once that has finished I will not be buying another one for next season but will pick and choose my games based on current form, the weather and admission price.

You old timers will return when on Weston-Super-Mare beach with your mankini and cockles pondering on Yatesy big signings in the summer.

Basically, I will support the team when they are winning and not support when they are losing. Horrifically fickle.

Perhaps current form was the wrong term, I should possibly have said current performances because while I can accept defeats I cannot accept some of the abysmal and totally abject displays we have been subjected to this season. You may have been satisfied with what you have seen at Whaddon Road this season but there are many who have ceased watching such lack lustre efforts by our players and I will be just joining this growing band of dissatisfied customers.
I am not horrifically fickle, I just expect value for money and I don't consider I have received that this season..
