Missed several hatfuls of 1 on 1's this season. I'd be surprised if he was still here next season. We need more power and pace up front to challenge for promotion.

Strikers need game time. Had to be played an hour a game on average when fit, and he wasn't. Same goes for Terry.

Still think he should be well into double figures, with his experience and knowledge.
He's only started 20 league games. He's probably 3 or 4 short of where he should be, had he started most games and had the midfield of a few years ago (2011/12) he probably would have had a 25 goal season.CTFC03 wrote:Should have scored 20+ already, not good enough.
Harrison and Cureton have roughly the same strike rate this season, think Cureton might be worth another season depending on wages.
Another year on, hes bound to be getting better.
It may well be the supply is the problem but he himself says hes missed too many chances
Yates is unlikely to change that
I would prefer to see Terry get more time and another striker brought in on a 2 yr deal as we will no doudt say good bye to Harrison unless we give him a new contract now

..another year on he will be slower; take longer to recover from knocks etc; and still no guarrantee that he will 'get the service' he needs in th penalty area. Halve [?] his wages to £25,000/yr [on the basis he's not even worth 50k/yr..] plus bonus for goals scored then worth a punt or place on the bench. Personally I would release him; as most of the squad.
As one of the most experienced strikers we've had on our books perhaps (when fit) we should have built the team around him and provided him with a regular supply of the right sort of chances for him to score, not have him in and out of the team every week with different strike partners. See how Brendan Rodgers has concentrated on the partnership with Suarez and Sturridge and how it's paid dividends. They are not chopped and changed every week. Slightly different class, agreed but the principle is the same. Strikers are not magicians. They need enough of the right sort of chances.
I would think curo regrets coming here, playing for the clown in charge. The number of games he was played as a lone striker & lack of service in others made him look like a little boy lost. His missed chances can be put down to lack of match fitness & confidence. He must know that he'll never get used properly by yatesy, especially using the dopey diamond. There's plenty of teams out there that would willing pay good wages for him,and with a manager with a football brain that would get 20 goals from him next season.

I wasn't disagreeing Lobotomy Boy - you will see from my first post on this thread I also believe mismanagement is to blame for Cureton's lack of goals.Robin wrote:Alf and Gandi have it spot on, it's due to the clown in charge.

So I would be banned for three utterances of a derogatory term but you can merrily dish out similar yourself multiple times in almost every thread?Robin wrote:Keep going and you will get a ban for breaching forum rules.
Surely as a moderator you should be setting the example rather than continually using such a silly insult when referring to our manager, as well as having a swear word in your avatar which would not be allowed to be written in a post (test: s#!t)
So, just so I've got this right, despite Jamie Cureton openly admitting that he has missed chances he himself would have expected to score, it is Mark Yates' fault that he hasn't scored more?Robin wrote:Alf and Gandi have it spot on, it's due to the clown in charge.
It was Mark Yates' fault that at 1-0 down against Tamworth, Cureton was clean through on goal and instead of rounding the keeper and rolling the ball into an empty net, he attempted the most pathetic lob I have ever seen?
Have a day off will you.
And RCS, Lobotomy Boy -
So what do you expect him to say in an interview.Si Robin wrote:So, just so I've got this right, despite Jamie Cureton openly admitting that he has missed chances he himself would have expected to score, it is Mark Yates' fault that he hasn't scored more?Robin wrote:Alf and Gandi have it spot on, it's due to the clown in charge.

"the manager doesn't know how to get the best out of me. He doesn't know what he's doing"
Players just can't say things like that in an interview, when have you ever heard a player slag off a manager when he's still at a club.
Why some of you think that hurling abuse at other posters makes up for a lack of insight into what happens in the world of football is beyond me.
No need for the retard bit.Mine is an interesting theory.Yatesy should have kept harrison & curo together for as many games as possible. With a bit more aggression from byron & curo picking up the pieces, you might have ended up with an alsop/naylor partnership which would have produced dividends.
Are you brain dead or just a fool? Is brain dead different from brain being removed? I would argue not really and this a formal complaint against a moderator stepping out of line.
Happy to accept if you can find one post where I am insulting other posters as per the rules of this forum.RegencyCheltenhamSpa wrote:Is brain dead different from brain being removed? I would argue not really and this a formal complaint against a moderator stepping out of line.

You just said I was brain dead or a fool - no worse than what I called you.
Plus I see you still have a word which is banned and against forum rules in your little Hereford picture.
So posters cannot say 's#!t' but moderators can? Seems a bit unfair.

But it's shedferd...Robin has every right to say 's#!t' in the same sentence.RegencyCheltenhamSpa wrote:Plus I see you still have a word which is banned and against forum rules in your little Hereford picture.

I get the horrible feeling that if JC scores 1 more we will sign him for next season
