Just looked at Gow's stats. Only hit double figures in 2 seasons, pretty poor for an attacking player.

From what I've seen he is a little bit like Josh Low, shows moments of sheer class but will have games where he will barely touch the ball. He was playing LM against us at the Mem and I did not realize that he was playing, he barely touched the ball. I'm told his best position is just behind the strikers so would be a good replacement for Deering (that's if he can keep him injury free).

Better than Deering or McGlashan.

Gow would fit perfectly into the system we are intending to play and would add some much needed creativity.

Good mates with Daryl Duffy so might be warned off!

At least he could be primed in advance as to which seat on the bench is the most comfortable.

Andy Welsh, formerly of Stockport, Sunderland, Toronto, Blackpool, Yeovil, Carlisle and Scunthorpe. 30 year old winger. Currently looking for a club. Somebody tweeted Jon Palmer suggesting him as a potential signing. Welsh stated that he would be "available".

Worth a look do we think? Certainly got the experience and I think the talent to do well in League 2. Think we'd do well to get him in.

We don't need another winger.

When quality comes along though... so far we have Haworth as our only really experienced winger.

Based on what I saw today Haworth isn't much of a winger, no real pace or trickery. At the moment I don't really see where he fits into the team and Kotwica is a long way off so I would take him but only after we get a number nine and a creative centre midfielder in.

I'd say Harrison was our number 9 (well he is in terms of shirt number). I see him as a target man centre forward type who can play the lone striker role when needed. What we need I think is a pacey type to play off him should we play two up front.

A number nine for me is a fox in the box type finisher, who plays off the shoulder. A number ten for me is the link player who holds it up and scores a few, both Gornell and Harrison fit this criteria better.

Classic Number 9: Julian Alsop, Alan Shearer, or Miroslav Klose. Someone who powers the ball in from 0-15 yards with boot and head.

Another one to maybe have a look at...Anthony Malbon is still without a club after leaving Kidderminster. It's debatable as to whether he's League 2 standard but he might be worth a trial. Scored 19 the season before last and I think he had a nasty injury last season which derailed him a bit.

If Barnet could get him, why not us? Although a defensive midfielder, better than what we have.
