That's according to JP on Twitter.

Trotman trains today and will be "assessed"

Grimes is on the radar but there's reported interest elsewhere.

If Trotman and Grimes sign then that leaves 3. Meaning one goalkeeper, I'd expect a central midfielder and possibly a striker.

We have six central mids. Another central defender/ right back would be useful.

We don't have any real quality in centre midfield apart from possibly Richards. Taylor is on the transfer list and has failed to shine, Hall will bring work rate but comes with very patchy reports on his ability. Hanks is still very raw, who else do we have there?

I would be amazed if we do not land a first choice centre half to partner Troy though.

I realise you are being argumentative but please tell me why Hall will be our star man?

Firstly, sorry not to be clear but I meant star midfielder.

As you point out we do not have an abundance of quality in centre mid. Taylor will out the door and Richards needs to improve massively. We don't yet know who much Hanks will develop this season. As I said in a thread ages ago when we signed him and you questioned me, in the six or so games he has played against us in the League, Hall has always looked to me to be a strong player on the opposing side and has looked better than our midfielders in some of those games - a player I have watched and thought "I'd like us to sign him".

Has league one experience as well as league two. He is younger, taller, and faster than Richards. Unless Hanks really comes of age this season I think Hall will be our best midfielder.

Of course, Hall's power and running may give Richards more time and space and he may shine to prove me wrong. We shall see.

I can't say for certain, but I'm sure I've seen him in some of the pics that have been posted on Twitter.

Will have a look now.

Interesting comments by Yates in that this season he's been preaching to the team about playing as a team, instead as Individuals. So, based on this, does that mean we had players playing as individuals last season? It certainly looked like it at times.

That was my view CheltRobin however I do also feel there was a lack of craft to compliment the proven quality. This season seems to be little quality but lots of graft.

I just hope we get of to a reasonable start, otherwise it will be difficult to keep any confidence amongst the squad of inexperienced football league players.

As I understand it, only Lee Vaughan and our youngsters have a dearth of Football League experience.

Sub goalie, 2 CB's, another winger?, Striker? Hopefully 2 of those will season-long loans from Champ or Prem as Yates wanted.

Thought I saw Deaman and Stirling-James had been offered deals, so reduce that to three, one being back up keeper.

So only two other signings to come, one the centre half from the Lg 1 club ? One space then to fill - Cureton ?

Not getting too excited myself.

They haven't offered him a contract as of yet. That maybe suggests his wage demands are higher than what they can pay. Pure conjecture.
