Great views from the train up there. Been on the line a couple of times for work.

In terms of employment, average wage, average skills of the workforce, economic growth etc Aberdeen is top 3 in UK.

Cheltenham-born Drier scores on debut for Spurs.

Not ex-CTFC, but a Cheltonian so excellent to see.

Tom Denton (remember him) scored a hotly disputed equaliser for North Ferriby United at home to the one and only Gloucester City.

It was a shame that Noble turned into a sicknote for us just when we needed him. Signed on non-contract terms - is that the same as a Pay-as-you Play?

Hes obviously desperate to get a new club, so fair play (sorry) to him for taking the gamble.

"An own goal edged a spirited Inverness past the league champions Celtic. The deciding moment came when Marley Watkins got away down the right and fired in a cross that Celtic’s Lukasz Zaluska could only parry. The ball rebounded straight off the defender Eoghan O’Connell, who was helpless as the ball found the net."

Sam Deering is becoming almost prolific...another one today, the only goal in an away victory.

Steve Benbow now in goal for Cleeve. Saved a Penalty and a few other decent saves in today's 3-3:draw.

Duff wasn't the only ex-Robin playing top flight European football last weekend - Yuri Berchiche (10 games under Allen in 08/09 - you may remember him from Allen ordering him off the field, despite him not having been sent off, at Scunthorpe) made his La Liga debut for Real Sociedad at the weekend, losing 1-0 to newly promoted Eibar (where he played last season and made the Liga adelante's team of the year).

Marley looked like a player when he broke through but ultimately proved to be too lightweight, I think. Having seen him play at the league cup final last season, he seems to have put on the right amount of muscle, and looked the only player capable of doing something in amongst the hammer throwers.

Berchiche looked ok when he was here, glad to see that he's made it at a good level.

I can see the Marley situation being repeated with Zack, Harry Williams, Bobby Dale etc. Its been the same for years - starting with Hoppo and Jacko, but it is the same at most clubs, and inevitable - its nobodies fault - not every lad that comes through the youth set up makes the grade initially. There are bound to be the odd few like Foley and Watkins who go elsewhere, bulk up and do well. its life.

It would help if we had a reserve team that played week in week out

To think Watkins and Foley have gone on to better things - whereas some of the month long loans we have might not even be playing football anymore for all we know.

RCS how exactly has Watkins moved on to better things? He spent a long time in non-league and is now playing for Inverness who are probably about league two standard.

The big two for me are Matt Smith and Sam Foley who have played higher, maybe also Ryan Burge but now he can't get a full time club either.

Um, he gets to play at Celtic Park and Ibrox (albeit in the Scottish League Cup) rather than the Crown Ground and Rodney Parade? We were all congratulating Scott Brown on his move to Aberdeen (along the lines of "an upward move", and "who would begrudge him that" etc), yet Marley is knocked for also playing in the SPL (or whatever its called nowadays).

Belittling the Scottish League might be helping the YES vote if the polls today are correct.

And Rakish scores for Mansfield today in fact.

Unconfirmed reports the strike was from a jaunty angle.

Glad he has found a level where he can contribute to the score card.

I also support Coventry and had forgotten McGlashan was with Gillingham until I arrived at the ground on Friday. He looks even faster when he's playing against your team.

He put in an excellent cross within the first five minutes which had me worried but the one time he got totally round the back with players free in the box for the square ball he slipped as he crossed and it went nowhere.

Overall, he was Gillingham's biggest threat so it looks like he could do quite well in League One. Good luck to him for the other 44 games of the year.
