Only very occasionally does yates make substitutions at the correct time, with the correct relacements. By all accounts we were completely over run in midfield in the 1st half but waited untill gone the 60th minute to change anything. And then again in he 85th minute when the game was completely over. Time after time our subs are at the wrong time and don't change games.

Having not started Hanks who was carrying a knock and being 2 down then there was little point in risking him.
Taylor taken off as the game was gone and no pointing in him getting his 5th booking and him missing before asa is back
We have no CM cover until Asa is back

Yates has been better in this area this season, but he got it wrong today. 2-0 down at HT and out of the match, he should've made at least 1 change at HT and could've made 2 changes quite easily.

But it was always gonna be a tough match, need to keep the Home wins coming, that's the key.

Go to a back for and use our platoon of wingers might have been an idea.

Now & again yatesy will have a lightbulb moment and get the timing & subs right, but must of the time he has,nt got a clue. How many times have you watched a game where it was obvious that players & formation needed changing at half time.He always has this idea that things will improve in the 2nd half, but they never do!So he'll leave it till this magic time of 65mins,then totally feck it up with bad decisions on change of personnel & systems. The team needs two decent midfielders to play alongside matty richards, until that happens we will struggle to compete in many games.

Who says Hanks was carrying a knock? I'm sure they wouldn't bother bringing him on in the 85th minute if he was carrying a knock.

Think Yates did mention something about Hanks not being 100%.

So at 3-0 down, we bring on a player who isnt 100%. Surely Kotwica would have been a better choice, bit more game time, instead of risking one of best players of the season so far when the game is clearly out of reach

I'd be interested to know what the injury to Hanks was, because I never heard anything about it till now.

Damned if do. Damned if don't. Some work. Some don't. That's football.

Hanks wasn't carrying a knock, he was 'jaded' apparently.

You make the right decisions at the right time and win games......that's also football.

No one said it wasn't. In order to make those right decisions you have to make decisions, and it's likely they won't all be right.

Listen to 606 and you will soon learn there is no manager in the land that isn't slated for bad decisions. From Mourinho and Wenger downwards fans moan about decisions every time they don't win.

Same way if you don't shoot you don't score, if you don't make decisions you won't get any right. Not all shots go in. Not all subs pay off.

Simple stuff and does my nut when fans talk about decisions with the ability of hindsight and the assumption that alternative decisions would have been better.

Who knows what would have happened if Yates had done something different. May have been worse and lost 6-0. May have been better and got a goal or two. We will never know and there is no evidence to support either way so why criticise for criticism's sake?

They may have been the best and right decisions and we simply lost to a better team. We will never know. Which is rather than stress and worry and criticise it I will just look forward to the next game.

Thank you for stating the 'bleeding obvious', however some managers such as Mourinho make more right decisions and fewer wrong ones which tends to imply that they are better managers. By the way, if it 'does your nut when fans talk about decisions with the ability of hindsight' why bother listening to 606. That is what the programme tends to be for. Also, if you are going to discuss a decision you have to first wait for it to be made. If it hasn't been made you cannot discuss it.
