I'm pretty excited about this season. Looks like more good business from Gary

Again a little apprehensive at the age of our players now, quite a few under 23. But again, I'll trust the manager and let him do the worrying as he has experience in the most important positions.

Hopefully we can sign another reasonably experienced CB to play alongside Downes and our full backs will have some great guidance which hopefully we'll all prosper from.

Yes I assuming only a first choice centre half to come now - second loanee perhaps? - and a back-up keeper given the squad size.

Steve Elliott hopefully will get fit.

Two good young left backs will compete well.

Can't win anything with kids ;) On a serious note it would be good to see the next couple in with more experience to balance things out.

It's also interesting as Gary has mentioned wing backs a lot in his interviews with JP which need 3 Centre Backs....Not sure where they are coming from!!

Well 1-2 more signings according to Gary surely one will be a centre half and we know Elliott will be player/coach if he recovers well enough.

Agree Robin - Elliott was allegedly still hobbling from his op on first day of pre season so he would not be fit for season start I would imagine so even with a signing it only gives us 2....plus Deaman.

I imagine will be down to how many he ships out still!

We have four listed players left and I would imagine only Vaughan is on high conference level wages, maybe Deaman is on a par with the average centre half. Assuming the money is not already spent (some of it may be) I fear there won't be much left even when/if players move on.

I still think we are 4 players short. We need another 2 CB's one being Elliott perhaps so that would give us 4 including Deaman. At the moment we seem to be overloaded with CM's so I would like to see another winger come in as we are short there with Richards being out for a bit. I would also like to see a smaller poaching striker come in but I can't see that happening at the moment we don't seem to have much mobility up front.

I can't see many more coming in unless we move players out though Ben and surely a centre half and back up keeper are the key. We know there is another loan going to sign which I assume is on loan and probably another youngster with mobility to partner Downes then we have Elliott/Deaman as cover.

Also someone mentioned wingers, I am getting the feeling now that we won't play with wingers and instead will play more 5-3-2/4-3-3 formation with two forwards off a central striker or one player behind two strikers.

4 CB's is a must so 2 more need to be signed as you say. In regards to wingers how many do we have? Kotwica and Waters are the only ones which spring to mind?

Munns and OSJ too although I am not sure we will operate with wingers given the amount of central midfielders we have.

Agree with Robin. .....our left back and right back described themselves as quick and like to get forward......they will be our width I'd I'd imagine.....

Quick and like to get forward.......recipe for being criticised and abused on the RNF!

Only if they're rubbish at it and can't defend, neither.
