So we finally got our man. His pace will be needed I feel but hope we don't drop Parslow who has done well so far.

And Downes has been named MotM in our two home games, and got a goal and assist and a clean sheet last weekend...

Downes was decent enough against Southport and is far from poor but in my view Parslow is the better centre back based upon the games I've seen.

But would you just drop Downes straight away, I meant.

I can't see our captain being dropped.

I'd drop Downes before Parslow at the moment if I had too, but no need to make changes in the short term for sure.

Downes is decent but when we come up against a striker with pace he's beaten with an easy ball over the top.
I can't see him being dropped though.

Although primarily a centre half Parslow can also play anywhere across back four so there are options....

Parslow looks to be no nonsense, wouldn't say I can imagine him playing at left or right back.

If he did it would be as a defensive option rather than offensive, which would likely make us more predictable as an attacking threat down the other side.

Dickie will surely start on the bench, but gives us cover for a later-in-the-game substitute. His time will come as one of Parslow or Downes will get a niggle, suspension or just need a rest.

Good job GJ in getting your man.

Agree. Though also gives the option of three at the back and push the fullbacks on more (if that's possible!)

5-3-2 could actually work well if the middle three are Storer, Munns and Hall.

Storer, Pell & Hall. Or Storer, Hall and a more in form Waters. Or, pick any 3...as long as Storer is in it.

Harsh on Munns but agree Storer is first choice in there at the moment.

I was just saying, any of them could be an effective 3 as long as Storer is in there. If we were to play a 3 on Saturday, not that I think we will, I'd have Storer, Munns and Pell at the moment, until Hall has played a full 90 at least.

GJ will put Parslow to rb and Barth to lb in a few games time with new lad at CH. Bowen who has done no wrong will be loaned out .

Was hoping this would be about a winger.

I'd be surprised if Dickie has been sent on loan without promises that he'd get some chances.

He has played right back for our U21s on occasion and he's very good on the ball so could even do a job in midfield, but centre back is definitely his best position. Quick, strong, good on the ball. Hyperbolically nicknamed the Basingstoke Beckenbauer because of his tendency to carry the ball out from the back. There are some questions over his reading of the game but he should be more than good enough at your level, particularly for a Gary Johnson side.

so that will be every one of our "kids" out on loan, and only three of last seasons squad here after that (Vaughan, Wynter & Richards), GJ clearly wants his own squad -
