Over 5,200 at Wrexham. Over 4,800 at Tranmere. Over 4,200 at Grimsby. I believe we were the next largest with around 2,200.
Although the Wrexham game is on television and on a channel many do not have; I would be disappointed if we have an attendance below 3750.Robin wrote:Makes sense, we are probably the fourth biggest club in this division (possible exception being Lincoln) although I do hope our crowds begin to increase once we establish ourselves towards the top of the league.

I'm surprised Wrexham are getting so many as their gates were often below ours

Sure directors must have been disappointed with yesterday's attendance. You would have to hope for 2400 + given start we have had and relatively attractive football we are playing ?
Really? £7000 is approximately 500 on the gate (at £16 less VAT). Do you think that the game on TV will cause 500 not to turn up that otherwise would have?andgarod wrote:Be prepared to be disappointed
Bank holiday Monday at tea time - forget it
As previously discussed the £7000 TV fee will not compensate for the lower numbers on the gate
Most people seem to be under the impression we have had a poor start to be fair Kev. While more interested people will recognise with a new team it's been a solid start others will see three draws and a win and think that's not promotion form.solihullkev wrote:Sure directors must have been disappointed with yesterday's attendance. People seem to forget that it is school holidays and Saturdays are change over days when holidaying over here. Means those coming back won't be home in time and those who are going will have left. It happens every season. Now is the time for us to spread the word and get some more people to get to the World of Smiles and hopefully they will enjoy and spread the news and bring more people. We as supporters can do our bit and help the club generate an income.
Times have changed and we need to go out there and show people it's a new start.

I think a lot of our supporters who just could not take any more under the last regime will eventually come back but it is bit like a broken relationship, some want to be sure that things have improved before they come back and some don't forgive that easily! The school holiday thing is a very valid point and there's also a lot of people who don't have school age kids who wait for the families to come back before they take their holidays. It is going to take time.

As long as we can keep attendance around the 2200 - 2500 mark then I think we'll be doing ok.
If at the business end of the season we are pushing for promotion/play offs then I think this will rise.
