Well we are possibly Torquay's closest neighbours.... I can't think of any teams closer to them.

Indeed, well, yes and no.

Torquay is not a derby, other than a 'regional derby' - being one of only two other teams in the same region as Chelenham (South West).

As for being one of the furthest games - not quite true. Of the 23 trips CTFC will make, Torquay is the 11th closest, so actually in the top 50% closest trips.

It is actually closer than average, even after discounting for the two extremes of FGR and Gateshead.

Picking up on RobinsRule's point on being Torquay's closest neighbour:

FGR are closer: 126.45 miles from Torquay
Eastleigh are also closer: 131.4 miles from Torquay

Stats below. All distances from http://distancecalculator.globefeed.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

3 Aldershot / 86.6 / 2.7%
4 Eastleigh / 87.3 / 2.8%
5 Woking / 91.9 / 2.9%
6 Boreham Wood / 101.8 / 3.2%
7 Wrexham / 114.3 / 3.6%
8 Macclesfield / 115.5 / 3.7%
9 Altrincham / 119.5 / 3.8%
10 Chester / 120.0 / 3.8%
11 Torquay / 134.2 / 4.3%
12 Bromley / 137.1 / 4.3%
13 Welling / 142.0 / 4.5%
14 Braintree / 144.9 / 4.6%

Apols - I only presented the data I was given and must have been an error.

Why do you take threads off topic is it just to keep your posting levels up RCS and Robin

Robin commented on something in the original link - I thought it was an interesting point so expanded further then others chipped in with more good info - and nothing to stop others talk about Downes / Torquay if they wish.

Considering the subject and original post by 51/84 was about a spelling error it was hard to take the thread any lower to be honest!
