Seems like a great character to have on the training ground and match, bringing new enthusiasm to the dressing room. Plus, 'definitely obviously' - showing a lot more conviction and decisiveness than that popular beat combo Oasis.

...based on last nights perfromance his finishing is the Dan Holman class-if my memory serves me right anyway. :-)

agreed. If he maintains that form and work ethic, Holman will not be an automatic start IMO

Fully fit Holman and De Girolamo = 9-0's every week...

Definitely obviously a great lad and signing for us

Holman and Diego sounds exciting. DW providing a different option and Billy playing well with his work rate. If this Winchester fellow signs in midfield to play alongside Pell, things are starting to look a lot better.

Holman and De Girolamo would be too similar imo.

Tend to agree with that. Hence my thinking Holman better step up if that form continues

You might go DW through the middle and then one either side. Looks like they are both goalscorers so you don't really want one on the bench all the time ideally.

Indeed - playing alongside DW dind't do DG him much harm against Leics did it!

Wouldn't that result in dropping Billy, who is our top scorer and the one player who's clearly made the step up.

I imagine it would do Dan some good to come off the bench for a few games and properly ease himself back in.

There is no need for Dan Holman to "step up" - he has the class to succeed, he's just been extremely unlucky with injuries this season, plus Colchester did a nasty little job on him. A fully fit Holman will bang the goals in again. I'm licking my lips at a Holman / DeGirolamo, or Waters paired with either of them, in partnership, but none of them are particularly tall and so Dan Wright or Amari will need to continue in the role of target men, or tactical changes within some games either starting or coming off the bench.

Billy could slot in behind the three in a 4-2-1-3. Yes you are dropping one of the centre half's but Manny and Will might be more comfortable in a 4 anyway.

Nice to have options.

I would like to see:

Brown

Barts / Manny / Will / Cranners

Pell (when back) / Winchester (if he signs)

Billy

Diego / Danny W / Holms (when fit).

Can then interchange Billy with Munns or Winchester if he's more of an attacking mid.

Who cares if they're too similar if they're both being fed the ball and banging it in the back of the net.
