My impression at the time was that it wasn't a red card offense. Watching the replay, it's not even worth a booking. OK Storer went in fairly hard, a bit awkwardly, but played the ball with the side of his foot. Studs weren't raised, and I don't think you could say it was excessive force.Nesty wrote:http://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sp ... -mansfield

Not for the first time the referee has ruined a perfectly good game. Do they not realise that supporters work hard all week and just want a couple of hours of honest entertainment, not spoiled by over officious twats. Think we should all invoice the referee for a refund!
The reaction of their player is appalling.
Wasn't surprised to hear he was the dickhead who celebrated in Steve Elliott's face for Fleetwood a few years ago, leading Benno to being sent off for retaliation.
An absolutely vile player, a playing version of Steve Evans.

If you freeze the action at the point of impact, Stoz clearly gets the ball and doesn't make contact with the actor's leg. McGuire also play-acted earlier in the half when he dived tryng to simulate contact after with Liam Davis' boot. The club ought to bring this incident to the attention of the appeals panel to show what a cheat the man is.

McGuire is scum.Creatures like him ruin the game.
I wasn't surprised in the slightest to see Evans give McGuire a huge bear hug "well done, son" when he went off, despite the fact that he did absolutely nothing of a footballing nature all afternoon. Carried out the gaffers plans to a tee. Pair of cheating scumbags. One of them definitely shouldn't even be allowed to have anything to do with the game.

I wouldn't be surprised if Stoz was deliberately targeted 'tactically' by Munchkin Evans, & McGuire was probably detailed with the task of making a meal of anything involving a Stoz challenge. Both clearly got immense enjoyment from succeeding too. They will get their come-uppance because what goes around, comes around, and Football has a wonderful habit of balancing things out over the course of time.

In full speed, plus the reaction from fatty Evans, I can see how the ref got had over.
In slow motion, both players got to the ball at the same time. No studs. No foul from either.
If one actually stops the footage before impact, you can see the crook Evans already has arms outstretched and is already complaining about something.
And sadly given half the premier league is funded by monies of dubious origins, the FA probably see Evans as one of their own.
