Last time someone said something similar we turned Morecambe over 3-1 so no panic imo.

McKeown starting. Come on Danny, revenge for last season's unjust ban.

Great corner by Rowe for the goal.

I know we all see things differently but Cranston looking no better or worse than any other game I have seen him in imo.

The Fishy is in turmoil. God they hate us  Hope Pell gets another and runs right back in front of them. Looks like (hopefully) we are destroying their play off chances too.

Of all the disappointments this season, giving Cheltenham 6 points and probably league survival is the worst. Pathetic excuse of a football team. However, their fans can have their little triumph as it must be bloody awful to be one of them. No class, no history, no fans, no pitch, no football.
Yep and we always win, so what does that make them?

Grimsby were poor and had nothing up front, we also lacked quality but made up for it with a will to win and sheer determination. Today's result leaves on the verge of safety but also show cases why 5-6 better players are needed come the summer.

Ratings:
Brown - not sure he had a serious save to make but almost fumbled one in, otherwise solid (6)
Winchester - looked like he made a mistake for their goal otherwise solid at the back (6)
Boyle - headed everything (7)
Manny - did well I thought but has fifty pence head I would sign him in the summer if Brentford are releasing him (7)
Cranston - rarely troubled defensively, didn't have a bad game but if he's anything more than cover next season I will be disappointed (6)
Pell - the tactic in the first half seemed to be hit over Andrew and left Pell run past him, it worked because Andrew is garbage, Harry also produced the only two class moments of the game with a great goal and celebration (8)
Storer - Once the game settled down did well and needs to be retained for next season (7)
Waters - Ran and chased everything, worthy of a two year deal (7)
Holman - we didn't create much other than long balls but looked lively (6)
Wright - worked tirelessly, did OK but we still need a better target man come the summer (7)

Brown made 3 or 4 important contributions - the free kick save in the top corner in the first minute, a great punch when a player would have had a header 8 yards out, and another free kick, and the one that skewed off the mud patch and headed for the bottom corner.

Boyle - magnificent except for one silly mistake that gave away a free kick on edge of the area. He and Manny won everything today.

Cranston - good defensively for once, some good balls and crosses, but a few pumped to nobody. He wan't the only one though.

Winchester - did well apart from their goal. Got to give him some slack though - would expect him to be part of a 3 man midfield next season.

Storer - undroppable. His organisational skills and, therefore, record when playing this season speak for themselves. Just bosses the midfield battles and refuses to lose. His win ratio at CTFC must be insane.

Rowe - no dodgy free kicks or corners, won his tackles, played his passes well. If he could bottle todays performance he would also be undroppable.

Pell - probably the last kind of character you should ever boo, especially when he's up against Danny Andrew, because he will be virtually unplayable, score a stunner and celebrate right in your face.

Waters - Duracell bunny should have stayed on the left, but can see why his chasing was wanted up front late on. Moments after he went up front they had time on the right for the first time and they stuck their first quality ball across the pitch and scored.

Holman - had a tough afternoon, wasn't quite on it but his effort still made him a threat.

Wright - loves playing Grimsby. Doesn't like elbows. Had no protection from the ref all afternoon yet again, including after the red card. Showed some great control and heading today but missed a great opportunity to wrap the game up.

Subs
Davis - shame it took him 7 or 8 minutes to get up to speed. Held the ball well in the final 7 or 8.

Downes - won absolutely everything that came anywhere near him.

Wootton - like Davis, was asleep when he came on. Must have thought it was a goal kick so stood 5 yards offside. Don't think he did much else other than chase a bit.

Grimsby weren't very good but part of that was we marked them out of it. They played it around so deep because nobody had any space in front. There wasn't much movement from them though.

I'm really pleased for Russ Milton this evening. He deserves plaudits too, as he's had some tough weeks since Gary's operation, and it's the second time he's had to attempt a rescue job at the tail end of a season for the Club.

Great game today, I was entertained throughout, well done Russ and the Lads.

Also got my Season Ticket renewal form today.
