If I'm understanding this right all clubs will have their games on a streaming service next season?
Personally I think this could be huge.
Even those in the UK may be savvy enough to find a way to see these....

Didn't a law just pass making unauthorised streams illegal now?

Yes. Gambling firms for example can tell if you are logging into their services from VPNs. A lot will depend on IP addresses issued but there are ways.

Yes, but that's a block on an IP address, which is just an extension of the geographic restriction in the first place. its not detecting the VPN itself. Rotate the presented RIPE address and you get round that control.

The question is if anyone is going to pay £110 to find out if they can watch it through a VPN. I think finding a dodgy stream on somewhere like cricinfo will be easier. Not that I'll be doing that.

Not technically, more a legal grey area. Downloading say music or movies was illegal however streaming and simply watching wasn't technically illegal until now. I understand the government has passed new powers to shut down such sites or streams and will work with broadband providers to do this so it's going to be a lot harder in the coming months.
